Last night at few Wolf Packs joined together to clean up the Sackville Greenway along the Little Sackville River. Before we all got started they presented the SRA with a cheque for $470 from a bottle drive. Thank you so much! ❤️

These kids are all right, too.

By the way, there wasn't as much litter as we were expecting, but we did find a tire and half a TV.

These young people know how important our environment is. If you'd like to help the SRA, make sure you get your tickets for the upcoming Sackville Duck Race, June 6. We'll be selling tickets tomorrow at the Sackville Farmers' Market NS.

Not only did the Millwood High School students and staff clean up some of the Sackville River around Bedford Place Mall, but they also held a bake sale and donated $300 to the Sackville Rivers Association.
Wow!
We are truly grateful and inspired by these folks in wanting to make a little part of the world better for everyone to enjoy. Thank you again to the students and staff for their efforts.

Another way to help the SRA continue its work is by supporting the Annual Duck Run on Saturday, June 6th starting at 11 AM at Acadia Hall - Lower Sackville, NS. We'll be showing the runs on a big screen in the hall with plenty of fun for everyone in the family to enjoy. The folks at Acadia Hall are teaming up with us once again for this event and will continue to sell tickets at the Sackville Farmers' Market NS.
Pictured below are just some of our corporate ducks. Notice how they're all neatly in rows?

These are just a few pics from Saturday's Sackville Waters Day, put on by the Sackville Lions Club.
The kids just loved releasing trout in First Lake (while rumors of osprey floated around).
We saw a lot of our friends there: Friends of First Lake, Sackville Lakes Park and Trails Association, Billy Gillis - HRM Councillor District 15 - Lower Sackville/Beaver Bank, Jean St-Amand, Councillor, HRM District 16 , Brad Johns, and Fultz House.

Big thanks to all who came to celebrate and learn about protecting our watershed.

Hope to see you at First Lake for fish, fun and games, and a BBQ.

This Saturday at First Lake is where all the fun will be happening.

As a big kid myself, there's almost nothing better than fish releases. Well, maybe a BBQ. Wait! There's a BBQ, too! And raffles and a 50/50 and...

The kids are all right!!

The Sackville Rivers Association received a message a couple of weeks ago about a clean up of the Sackville River and were we ever excited. Big thanks to the students and staff of Millwood High School.

Here's what they said:

The students and staff of Millwood High School are amazing! A whole BUS 🚍 LOAD of them helped us clean the shores of Sackville River by Bedford Place Mall.

Everyone was so positive and we couldn't have asked for a nicer day. We had lots of people passionate about clean ups there, including Lyndyn from , Steve from the clean up, stopped by and the Team were there in full force ❤️

We removed over 350 pounds of debris from the river banks and were able to divert almost 40% of what we picked up! There were so many interesting finds, including a hockey stick, construction sign, measuring cups, a funky pillow, an anchor and something we will save for another post. (It's was not kid friendly!)

A highlight was when many different people from the community stopped by and thanked us for our work. But the most special thanks was from a member of the association. They do A LOT of stewardship activities along the Sackville River💧and have for many years, so a thank you from one of them is a pretty big pat on the back. ❤️ 🫂

Great job to everyone who joined us. Together, we can make a difference! 🌊
