Just over a year ago, these 7 puppies came into our care at just 18 days old. They needed bottle feedings, constant care, and a whole lot of love from staff to help them grow strong.

Now look at them. ❤️

Over a year later, these once tiny babies are thriving in their forever homes, spoiled rotten, loved endlessly, and living the lives they always deserved. Seeing their updates reminds us just how important rescue is and how much a second chance can change a life. 🐾

🐾❤️ Monkey’s Story Deserves a Happy Ending ❤️🐾

Monkey has spent far too much of her life waiting.

Since she was a puppy, she’s bounced around and never really had the chance to settle into a home and learn what it truly means to belong. While other dogs have had routines, couches to nap on, and families to call their own, Monkey has been patiently waiting for her turn.

And somehow, despite it all, she still loves with her whole heart.

Monkey is one of the sweetest, cuddliest girls you’ll ever meet. She adores her people, happily leans in for affection, and would love nothing more than to be someone’s best friend. Beneath that energetic Border Collie spirit is a dog who is ready for adventures and equally ready for a cozy evening snuggled up beside her favorite humans.

Whether it’s hiking, running, playing fetch, exploring, or trying out dog sports, Monkey is always up for fun. She’s looking for an active home that will appreciate her enthusiasm for life and all the love she has to give.

Monkey is looking for a home with no small children and would prefer to be the only pet. She can be a little selective with men and needs some time and patience to build trust. But once she feels safe, her loyalty runs deep. Just ask her bestie Isaac, one of our shelter staff members. He gave Monkey the time and patience she needed, and she rewarded him with her trust and friendship. ❤️

Monkey doesn’t need perfection. She just needs understanding, patience, and someone willing to let her move at her own pace.

She doesn’t need another temporary stop.

She needs her forever.

A warm bed.

🚨 PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING FOR PEANUT 🚨

We know Peanut is adorable. Trust us, we see those corgi ears too.

But we need people to read his entire profile before submitting an application.

Since Peanut became available for adoption, the majority of inquiries we’ve received have been from homes with other dogs, children, or both. Unfortunately, those homes are not a match for Peanut’s needs.

What many people don’t realize is that Peanut came to us because his options were running out. If we hadn’t stepped in, euthanasia was the likely outcome. We made a commitment to give him a chance, and that means being advocates for him—even when it’s the harder path.

Peanut needs:
✔️ An adult-only home (older teens considered)
✔️ No other dogs
✔️ No cats or small animals
✔️ A family willing to respect his boundaries and set him up for success

Could we place him in a home that doesn’t meet those requirements? Sure.

Will we? Absolutely not.

Our job isn’t just to find Peanut a home. It’s to find him the RIGHT home.

Every animal deserves a placement where they can thrive, not just survive. Peanut has already been through enough change in his life, and we refuse to put him in a situation that could set him up to fail.

And don’t get us wrong—Peanut is a great dog with so much potential in the right home. He’s won over every member of our staff and has become a favourite with many of our volunteers. He has been amazing with the people who know him best, and we’ve seen just how loving, goofy, and loyal he can be.

Peanut’s love language is play. Toss him a toy, engage with him, and you’ll quickly see his personality shine. He doesn’t need everyone—he just needs his people. Someone who understands his needs, respects his boundaries, and appreciates him for the wonderful dog he is.

We’re not looking for a perfect home. We’re looking for the right home. And we know that person is out there. Maybe they haven’t seen him yet. Maybe they’re waiting for a sign.

It’s been just over 2 years since GoodBoy formerly “Mouse” has settled right into his new life. He once lacked confidence and was quite scared of everyone and everything. Now you wouldn’t even know.
He regularly enjoys camping adventures, lots of snacks, car rides, watching over his flock of chickens, long naps in any ray of sunshine he can find and hanging out in the greenhouse. He instantly bonded with his fur sister Tease and loves his 5 year old human brother/snack machine. He drops lots of snacks wherever he goes. Therefore the cleanup crew is not far behind. Thank you to the MHSPCA for entrusting us with GoodBoy he was the perfect addition to our family.

FOUND DOG

This dog was found in Cypress County on Highway 41 near Elkwater. He appears to be neutered, however he is extremely sore in that area and difficult to examine due to discomfort. He does not have a microchip.
