Cycling Without Age Medicine Hat’s trishaws, Tulip and Monarch, are a familiar sight along Jeffries Trail.

Residents of Cypress View enjoy access to this beautiful trail, which is part of the city’s extensive Heritage Trail Network. The trail runs along the coulee, offering expansive views of the South Saskatchewan River.

This scenic area is named after Chris Jeffries (1894–1963), who was known for promoting organized sports in Medicine Hat.

Healthy Aging Alberta In Medicine Hat

For the first time, Cycling Without Age Medicine Hat attended the Healthy Aging Alberta Gathering, held in Medicine Hat on May 21. This annual in-person event brings together community organizations, care partners, senior facilities, and older adults to foster connection, share ideas, and explore community-driven approaches to healthy aging.

Tara chose a beautiful Saturday afternoon to invite 2 residents from Cypress View for the very first ride of the season. It was 25 C with a light breeze. Why not stop for an ice cream cone from DQ along the way? While waiting to get their cone, something really exciting happened, the riders saw someone they both know really well going through the drive through! They exchanged few words and some laughter. This is what the small pleasures of life are all about, and they do not cost anything.

Together, we welcome the Cycling Without Age 2026 season full of stories, smiles, the wind in their hair, and the simple magic of sharing the ride.
