Markham Youth Council

Markham Youth Council The Markham Youth Council engages youth from all across Markham by promoting volunteerism and building a community of awareness and togetherness.

Started in 1989, the Markham Youth Council was created in order to build a relationship that would involve the youths of Markham to their community. With over 60 members today, MYC is now the largest youth council. We focus and engage youths from all across Markham by promoting volunteerism and creating a safe and healthy environment that will allow them to grow in. Together, with four other Local

Area Youth Councils, (MYTF, Milliken, Unionville, and Thornhill), we build a stronger relationship with the youths in Markham. At MYC, our purpose is to be able to build a community of awareness and togetherness. We give youths throughout Markham a voice and an opportunity to give back to their community by; planning fun events throughout the year, charity fundraising, volunteering opportunities and many more. MYC encourages involvement and youth initiatives at different events throughout the year such as youth week, recreational opportunities and volunteering.
