More than 60 people attended CTCC’s “Together for Mental Wellness” seminar on May 9th — an eye-opening and meaningful evening focused on mental health awareness, su***de prevention, and community support.

A heartfelt thank you to our speakers:
• Dr. Jonathan Bertram (CAMH & University of Toronto)
• Archana Lingendran (Registered Social Worker & Psychotherapist)
• Percy D’Souza (Founder, GraceWins Peer Support)

The honest conversations, shared experiences, and valuable information reminded us that many people are silently suffering — and that awareness, compassion, and open dialogue can save lives.

This is only the beginning. CTCC is committed to hosting more wellness and mental health events in the coming months to continue supporting our community.

Silence is not the solution. Knowledge is.

Silence is not a solution. Every day, we see the impact of mental health struggles in our community, and we are losing individuals far too often. It is time to move from silence to knowledge.

We are hosting a crucial event on May 9th to provide our families, youth, and friends with the tools they need to respond when someone is struggling.

Event Details:
• Date: Saturday, May 9, 2026
• Time: 6:00 PM
• Location: CTCC Business Centre, 80 Travail Road, Unit 1, Markham (Markham and 14th)

Featured Speakers:
• Dr. Jonathan Bertram: Physician at CAMH and Clinical Lecturer at the University of Toronto. A world-class expert in mental health and addiction.
• Archana Lingendran: Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist specializing in DBT, crisis intervention, and su***de prevention.

What You Will Learn:
• For Parents: Specific steps to take if your child is struggling.
• For Youth: How to speak up when you see a peer in pain.
• For Everyone: Professional help and helplines available right now in our community.

This conversation is vital. When a life is taken, we often ask, "What could we have done?"

This event is designed to answer that question before a crisis happens.
