On Tuesday our staff as well as the Nature Conservancy of Canada went out to Aundeck Omni Kaning First Nation to tackle patches of Garlic mustard that were documented in their forests. Garlic mustard has harmful impacts on forest ecosystems and is an aggressive invading species. It can cause an imbalance toward native species by altering the chemistry of the soil and inhibits growth of tree seedlings and other native plants. This area will be monitored over a number of years to ensure that it doesn't get established. , , , , , . , ,
