🚧 Ground Has Officially Been Broken! 🚧

Today, the Township of Lucan Biddulph celebrated the official groundbreaking of the Lucan Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion Project.

This significant infrastructure investment will modernize and enhance our existing wastewater treatment system while providing the capacity needed to support future growth in our community. The project will improve system reliability, strengthen environmental protection, and ensure our wastewater infrastructure continues to meet the needs of residents and businesses for years to come.

We would like to thank the Province of Ontario for its investment of more than $18.5 million under the Municipal Housing Infrastructure Program - Housing Enabling Water Systems Fund, helping make this important project possible.

Thank you to MPP Steve Pinsonneault, members of Council, municipal staff, Beaudoin Construction, OCWA, BM Ross and everyone who joined us to mark this important milestone.

While much of this infrastructure operates behind the scenes, it plays a vital role in supporting our community's quality of life, economic development, and long-term sustainability.

Was your home built on/before 2016? Your Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Alarms Need Replacing. 🚨

Smoke and carbon monoxide alarms are your family's first line of defense in an emergency—but they don't last forever.

✔ Smoke alarms should be replaced every 10 years
✔ Carbon monoxide alarms should be replaced according to the manufacturer's instructions (typically every 7–10 years)
✔ Test all alarms monthly
✔ Replace batteries as required
✔ Check the manufacture date or expiry date on the back of your alarms today

Many newer alarms have a built-in end-of-life warning that will chirp when replacement is required.

Mayor Cathy Burghardt-Jesson was honoured to present the Township of Lucan Biddulph's Senior of the Year Award to Hellen Bulanda at the June 16, 2026 Council Meeting.

This recognition celebrates seniors who have enriched our community through their volunteerism, leadership, and dedication to helping others. Hellen's years of service and commitment, in particular with Guiding, have made a meaningful difference in the lives of many young girls and have helped strengthen the fabric of our community.

As you make your way along the pathway, you'll discover a series of interactive activity stations designed to get kids (and kids at heart!) moving, thinking, balancing, hopping, and exploring. From hopscotch and life jumps to mazes and balance challenges, there's something new to try around every corner.

🏒 Help Shape the Future of the Lucan Biddulph Community Memorial Centre! 🏊‍♀️🏃‍♂️

In 2024, the Township's Parks & Recreation Master Plan recommended that the Township assess the feasibility and costs associated with expanding the arena at the Lucan Biddulph Community Memorial Centre (LBCMC) to include a second ice rink, along with potential improvements to the gymnasium and other spaces within the facility.

The Township has now initiated a Feasibility Study to explore these potential enhancements and is seeking input from residents, user groups, and community members to help inform future decisions.

We invite you to complete a brief survey designed to gather feedback on the potential use of and support for additions and improvements to the LBCMC. Your input will play an important role in helping shape the future of recreation and community spaces in Lucan Biddulph.

Affected residents are asked to run their cold water taps for several minutes to help remove any air from the lines and ensure fresh water is flowing through to their homes.
