December 2nd is ❤️

GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of radical generosity.

GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good.

Since then, it has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

Here at Tuff, we would love to encourage you to join the movement and give, whether it’s some of your time, a donation, or the power of your voice in your local community.

It’s a simple idea: whether it’s making someone smile, helping a neighbor or stranger out, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving some of what we have to those who need our help, every act of generosity counts and everyone has something to contribute toward building the better world we all want to live in.

Lest We Forget.

Earlier this year, one of our amazing volunteers, Anne Wildman, asked if one of the Tuff horses could model a piece created by the knitting group she is a member of (The Knitwits and Hookers of Mono Mills), Teddy was more than happy to take part.

We asked Anne about the project, she had this to say, ‘Early in the year, The Museum of Dufferin put out a notice asking for local crafters to knit or crochet poppies for their Remembrance Day installation.  Our group made a number of them and prior to donating them to the museum I sewed them onto a blanket for the picture with Teddy.’

More about ‘The Poppy Project’’

Inspired by similar grassroots projects around the country, the Poppy Project was launched by the Museum of Dufferin in November 2024. Beginning with free community drop-in sessions to learn how to crochet, the museum released a call out to the wider community to contribute their own knit or crocheted poppies for a community art installation planned for November 2025.
3368 poppies were donated to the project, with approximately 2/3rds currently on display.

Donations came from all corners of Dufferin County and even further afield, with some traveling from Guelph, Toronto, St. Thomas, and even New York State. These poppies were hand crafted in support of not just the Museum and Remembrance day, but in honour of Veterans, and in memory of loved ones.
