On the National Day for , we pause to reflect on the tragic history and ongoing legacy of residential schools. We honour the survivors, their families, and the communities forever impacted. Today and every day, we commit to listening, learning, and supporting the vital work of Indigenous-led organizations that are creating healing and pathways to justice. We recognize that a legacy of colonialism and discrimination has led many Indigenous families to face significant barriers to safe and decent housing. We are committed to working closely with Indigenous governments and community leaders to ensure our housing partnerships are shaped by the values and needs of First Nations, Métis and Inuit communities.
