September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day.

Today, we take time to remember the experiences of residential school survivors and their families, honour their healing journeys, and reflect on our shared responsibility toward reconciliation.

Our Greenstone Mine Experience Program participants are joining communities across the country in recognizing the importance of learning, understanding, and continuing the conversation around Truth and Reconciliation.

Wearing an Orange Shirt is a reminder that Every Child Matters. 🧡

Over the past four weeks, participants in Minodahmun’s Greenstone Mine Experience Program stepped beyond the classroom and into real-world mining operations. Through industry certifications, site visits, job shadowing, and conversations with industry professionals, they gained valuable insight into career opportunities in the mining sector. They even got a behind-the-scenes look at the gold room and a real gold bar!

This program was designed to open doors, build confidence, and create meaningful pathways toward long-term careers. Graduates are leaving with more than new skills and experience— they are leaving with new connections and a strong foundation to support their future goals.

We are proud of all that this cohort has achieved and excited to see where their journeys take them next!

A special thank you to our valued partners— Greenstone Gold Mines LP, Equinox Gold Corp., and NORCAT—for helping make this opportunity possible and for providing meaningful opportunities for local Indigenous talent. Also for Warrior Supplies for supplying the PPE for our participants.
