GALS Animal Rescue GALS is a 100% Volunteer run community group located in Invermere, BC. We do not have a shelter and rely on foster homes.

Think globally by acting locally; promote spay, neuter (globally) and adoption (locally) to address the animal overpopulation issue!

Meet 18 week old Minnie. Spayed, microchipped and up to date with her vaccines.
Little Minnie is the sweetest tuxedo kitten. She is playful yet super cuddly. Independent but loves her people too. She is always hanging out wherever you are in the house. Once play time is done she will sleep in your lap for hours stretched out purring away. She adores kisses head scratches and having her little marshmallow paw pads massaged. Minnie loves dogs and people and is very trusting. She will play tag with our dog non stop We have had no instances of putting her claws out at all so she must be adopted to someone willing to have an indoor cat. She is litter trained.

Does anyone recognize this girl? Found Tuesday 3pm around the 15km mark on Toby Creek FSR. No vehicles around and no collar on her (harness is the founders). Being brought to Chopper’s now to scan for a chip.

❤️ 54 DAYS. Countless sleepless nights. And finally…SIMBA IS SAFE! ❤️

There are some rescue stories that remind you exactly why you never give up.

After many all-nighters, countless hours searching, and weekends spent camping at the campground, we finally caught Simba at 3:00 a.m. this morning. 🐾

Simba has been our biggest challenge yet — an incredibly elusive Ragdoll who spent 54 days convincing us that he had completely transformed into a wild mountain cat. 🏔️🐈

But we never gave up.
And this morning, it finally paid off.

Simba is safe, and tomorrow he will be reunited with his family and return home to the life he was meant to have — as a much-loved city cat. ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who helped keep watch, shared his story, offered encouragement, and supported the search.

Sometimes rescue isn’t about giving up when things get difficult. It’s about staying out there until you finally get that one moment when everything comes together.

Welcome home, Simba. ❤️🐾

Attention Radium people!
Lost Cat
Shadow is missing from the Ridgeview Resort area (day 3).
He is microchipped and has a purple tag with his name and phone number on it. Shadow is used to going outside with his brother (also black) but is always in by 6pm. Shadow is a very slender cat and may be hiding in the area.
Please let us know if you see him or can coerce him inside as he is very friendly and chatty.

Introducing Axel 💗

This is one of the sweetest kittens I have ever had the pleasure of fostering. He is approx 3 months old and has been in my care since arriving to Invermere in late June when he was about 3 weeks old. Axel is now ready to find his forever home and we are taking applications through the GALS website.

He has the sweetest way to greet you, by jumping up on your lap when you sit down, and rubbing his little nose up to your face before settling on your chest or shoulder for a cuddle.

He is gentle and patient with my 5 and 11 year old kiddos picking him up, playing with him, and cuddling him. He loves playing with his brother River and falls asleep in the most adorable positions mid-play when he runs out of energy.

He respects my older cats when they don’t want to play, and would be a great companion for anyone looking to add an additional cat to a family who already has a feline 🩷

He has not been around dogs, but my home typically results in cats who are pretty easy-going and adaptable as they are very socialized through my kids, friends, and my other cats.

He is going to miss the companionship of his brother, so I would love to find a home that has other animals to keep him company if there are long periods of time when he would be alone.
