Babies shouldn't have babies! I'm about to have the privilege to tell this little girl she is never ever going to have to worry about having babies ever again.

ChinaDoll and her kittens are officially all set up with their veterinary appointments! And there's a little extra to help with Hucklebarry too!

I had a conversation with a friend about the farm. All of the to-do list items, the projects, the animals, new and existing. I try my hardest to not focus on the "it'll be better when's" because it's so easy to lose sight of what's good in the present.

Her response? You can't do more, unless you make room first. We live in a great community, and if you need help, just ask.

I'm the worst at asking for help. Ask anyone who knows me. But here's my situation. A vet appointment from earlier this week cleared the account, and more veterinary appointments need to be made - soon.

Some of you may remember the post I made a few weeks ago and the update posts here and there since, about a young cat named ChinaDoll, who waited until she was under the safety of the farm to drop her 6 kittens.
Well, those kittens are old enough to find homes - following a veterinary clearance - and we need help with getting that appointment done. These sweethearts will soon be looking for their forever homes and somehow, nobody has called "dibs" on any yet.

So, without looking too far into the ideals of the future, here I am, asking for help.

All funds raised will go towards the kitten's vet care. I'll make a post once we've reached the amount needed and thank everyone personally for their donations (unless asked not to). Any funds raised after that will go towards ChinaDoll's spay, and Hucklebarry's upcoming gelding procedure in October. We are still working on launching merch so stay tuned for that too!

Absolutely no donation is too small, but if you are unable to donate, please share this post and the future post when these babies are officially ready to go to help spread the word.

It feels like we all lost our best friend.

The world has always been divided on every single subject - until you get to talking about Dolly Parton. She gave us so much love, and endless laughs. She poured her heart into every interaction, and never hid her true thoughts.

Her desire to include everyone no matter what, made her our greatest treasure and her initiatives to help every possible soul she could just proves she was an angel far before she received her halo today.

Her butterfly wings (no doubt covered in all the prettiest rhinestones and diamonds) are finally at rest, but the legend that is Miss Dolly Parton will forever live on 🩷

A big family emergency a year ago underlined the need for farm care instructions in case I cannot be here for the animals. Now, I know I do a lot, but it really puts things into perspective when I have to actually update the instructions on the farms routine in case of future emergencies, or trips for the farm sitter.

Just shy of 25 pages on how to care for the residents who live here; complete with picture diagrams, in-depth descriptions on what's normal behaviour or not for whomever, what to do, what to look out for, who gets along with who, who to keep separate, and who to call in specific situations. All separated by enclosure, and again by species and again by names.

Is it a bit much? Yep. But does my team take it just as seriously as I do? Absolutely. I try to make it fun so it's a bit less daunting and the animals do the rest to make it feel less like work.

It's humbling.
It underlines the purpose.
They are, simply put, an extension of our family. A big extension. With a lot of instructions.
