July is Disability Pride Month!
This month is a time to celebrate the strength, resilience, and unique experiences of people living with disabilities. Disability is a natural part of human diversity, and Disability Pride Month reminds us that everyone deserves to feel seen, valued, respected, and included.
Did you know that 1 in 4 Canadians lives with at least one disability? While some disabilities are visible, many are invisible—and every person's experience is different. A little kindness, understanding, and accessibility can go a long way in creating communities where everyone can thrive.
At the H.A.C., we're proud to foster welcoming, accessible programs where people of all abilities can connect, learn, and participate. We recognize the importance of creating programs and spaces that are welcoming and accessible to all. This means continuing to listen, learn, and adapt in order to reduce barriers and support full participation in community life. We are committed to fostering an environment where people of all abilities feel valued, respected, and included - not just in July, but every day.
