Carrying coach's lacrosse lessons into life is a good read 😀

Grizzly 2026 Head Coach Jake C**n is not only guiding our team to greatness but also leading the RIT Men's Lacrosse program to an incredible legacy! 🥍 With 11 Liberty League titles, 12 straight NCAA Tournament appearances, and 2 National Championships, Coach C**n's record speaks for itself. Congratulations Ella, a recipient of our NIL Sponsorship program for Haudenosaunee student-athletes 👍

As we continue our countdown to the 6th Annual 4TFF Golf Tournament on Friday, September 25th, we’re excited to introduce another one of our 2026 Academic Scholarship recipients!

Meet Ella Oakes, a Mohawk from the Saint Regis Mohawk Reservation and a junior at SUNY Morrisville pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Ella is also a student-athlete competing in both women’s ice hockey and women’s lacrosse. Balancing two collegiate sports with a rigorous academic workload has helped her develop the discipline, resilience, leadership, and work ethic she carries into everything she does.

Growing up in Akwesasne instilled in Ella the importance of community and helping others. She hopes to use her nursing education to provide compassionate, culturally respectful care and help improve access to quality healthcare in Indigenous communities.

We’re proud to support Ella as she works toward a career centered on service, community, and giving back.

Want to help us support more Indigenous student-athletes? Our golf tournament is a great way to support our scholarship initiative.

Register today at the link in our bio.

Congratulations, Ella!
