๐ Volunteer Spotlight: Ann Ironside ๐
This week, we're celebrating Ann and her remarkable 15 years of volunteer service with GHVA! ๐
Ann's volunteer journey began after retiring from her paid role with the organization.
"I was a paid employee and decided it was finally time to retire from the paid workforce. At which time the president enticed me to now volunteer."
We're certainly glad she said yes.
Over the past 15 years, Ann has worn many hats, serving as GHVA Board President, Director of Business Development, a member of the New Build Committee, and a sorting and pricing volunteer in linens and fabrics at New to You. Her leadership and dedication have helped shape GHVA and support its continued growth and success.
โจ "It is fun, with flexible hours, you meet great dedicated people, you get first pick of some of the donations while sorting, and the whole community benefits from up-to-date equipment in the hospital."
When asked what she enjoys most about volunteering, Ann shared:
๐ "The people and the knowledge that New To You is extremely successful."
And her favourite volunteer memories?
โจ "Every time GHVA has presented a cheque to the hospital."
Those moments represent thousands of volunteer hours, countless donations, and a community coming together to support healthcare close to home.
Thank you, Ann, for 15 years of leadership, vision, and commitment to GHVA's mission.
For anyone considering volunteering, Ann says:
โจ "It is fun, with flexible hours, you meet great dedicated people, you get first pick of some of the donations while sorting and the whole community benefits from up-to-date equipment in the hospital."
