💙 Volunteer Spotlight: Celebrating Lynn and 3 Years of Service! 💙

This week, we're proud to celebrate Lynn Harrison, who has reached her 3-year volunteer milestone with the Groves Hospital Volunteer Association!

Lynn's commitment to volunteering started long before GHVA. As a teenager, she was a Candy Striper, and she always knew she wanted to return to volunteering later in life.

Over the past three years, Lynn has volunteered in several areas of Groves, including Day Surgery, the front information desk, and Diagnostic Imaging.

One part of her role she especially enjoys is helping make patients feel more comfortable, including “assisting with mammograms sometimes calming the first timers.” 💙

And what makes it all worthwhile?

“Being thanked for volunteering.”

Those simple moments of connection can mean so much to someone who may be nervous, uncertain, or simply having a difficult day.

Thank you, Lynn, for three years of compassion, reassurance, and service. Your kindness makes a real difference to patients and families at Groves.

💙 Volunteer Spotlight: Celebrating Mary Ellen and 3 Years of Service! 💙

This week, we're celebrating Mary Ellen Brown and her 3-year volunteer milestone with GHVA!

After retiring, Mary Ellen was looking for a way to spend some of her time giving back, and she found her place volunteering in Housewares at New To You.

What does she enjoy most? The people.

Mary Ellen says, “I enjoy working with people who also enjoy being together.”

Three years of shared laughs, teamwork, and time spent helping the community have made volunteering an important part of her life. And for Mary Ellen, the reward goes beyond the volunteer shift itself: “It is great socially and you are helping our community.” 💙

That simple combination of connection and giving back is at the heart of what makes GHVA so special.
