RFDA Presents $320,000 Donation to Dryden Food Bank for Project Hope
DRYDEN, ON — August 26, 2026 — The Dryden Food Bank is pleased to announce a significant $320,000 donation from the Regional Food Distribution Association (RFDA), presented by RFDA Executive Director Mark Kmill, in support of Project Hope. This donation was made possible through the contributions of Shaw Family Foundation, NWMO and Feed Ontario.
This generous contribution will help the Dryden Food Bank move forward with its goal of becoming a Regional Food Distribution Hub for RFDA, strengthening the local food support network and helping provide food resources to food banks and food programs throughout the area.
Project Hope represents an important step toward building greater capacity for food distribution in the region. By establishing Dryden as a distribution hub, the initiative will help improve access to food resources for organizations serving individuals and families facing food insecurity across the surrounding communities.
“We are incredibly grateful to Mark Kmill and the Regional Food Distribution Association for this generous $320,000 investment in Project Hope,” said Allen Huckabay, Manager of the Dryden Food Bank. “This donation will have a lasting impact, not only on the Dryden Food Bank, but on food banks and food programs throughout our region. Becoming a distribution hub will allow us to work together more effectively and ensure that more people have access to the food they need.”
The Dryden Food Bank extends its sincere appreciation to RFDA for its commitment to supporting communities across Northwestern Ontario. The investment in Project Hope will help create a stronger, more coordinated regional food distribution network and expand the capacity of local organizations to respond to growing needs.
