FOUND DOG - COOKS MILLS 🐕 🐾

This sweet little guy was found on the corner of Lyons Creek Road and Pearson Road in Cooks Mills. Upon scanning there was no microchip, but the owner has been located! They will soon be reunited ❤️

Update: Haven was adopted May 18th! Thank you to everyone involved, especially Dee, who brought her to us originally!

Update #3: May 16th @ 10am - Up for adoption and is sweet as pie! She’s at Humane Society of Greater Niagara, St Catharines.

Update #2: Apr 22nd @ 3:45pm - She’s doing well but no one has claimed her yet. Turned out the microchip was from a company in Fiji but unfortunately never registered.

Update: At HSGN for care and to handle the owner situation.

Microchipped but unable to find which company it’s registered to. Humane Society of Greater Niagara has been notified. Staying with a Journey foster for now. Poor thing is exhausted.

Update on sweet Indie!

Thanks to the wonderful couple that found her on the side of the road and drove an hour to bring her to our volunteer in St Catharines!

She’s on the road to healing and we wish her all the best 🐾❤️🐾

Meet Indie.

Indie was found alone by a member of our community and brought to our shelter in desperate need of help.

She arrived suffering from severe demodectic mange, painful skin and ear infections, countless ticks, and tested positive for both heartworm and Lyme disease. She was emaciated, weak, and struggling to stand for long periods due to malnutrition and joint pain from Lyme disease.

The neglect Indie endured was so severe that it was difficult to tell what breed she is. We believe she's a Black Lab, but much of her coat was gone, leaving her skin inflamed and painful.

Today, Indie is safe.

She has a warm bed that she absolutely loves, nutritious meals, lifesaving care, and a dedicated team helping her heal. Her favourite part of the day? Belly rubs and attention from the staff and volunteers caring for her.

As she gains strength, she'll begin medicated baths to soothe her skin and continue her recovery.

While Indie has a long road ahead, we're beginning to see the beautiful dog hidden beneath the suffering.

Sadly, animals with complex medical needs are arriving at our shelters more frequently. Cases like Indie's require extensive veterinary care, medication, rehabilitation, and time.

A humane village came together for this rescue. A special thank you goes to the community member who found her, and our friends at the Humane Society of Greater Niagara of St. Catharines and Journey Fosters Niagara for helping with Indie's rescue

FOUND CAT - NIAGARA FALLS 🐈‍⬛ 🐾

Lionshead Ave.

DSH tabby, approximately 1 years old, no microchip detected, has a little hook on the tip of its tail as if it’s broke in the past. Very thin unaltered male.

This loving and beautiful little one found his way to a kind person that contacted us to scan for a microchip, and surprisingly enough there was none detected. Surely this babe has a home! He loves being held and giving hugs 🤗.

He is staying with one of our fosters tonight and an email has been sent to Niagara Falls SPCA to arrange drop off.

FOUND KITTEN - WELLAND 🐈‍⬛ 🐾

*Update: she has been dropped off at the Welland SPCA!*

Dieppe Street.

DSH female tabby with white, approximately 5 months old, no microchip detected.

This chatty little sweetheart spent the night in a tree, and was just finally retrieved by the wonderful Cole Zed who works closely with Ang and Raina from The Heart and Hope of Niagara.

We are so thankful he was able to get her down safely ❤️ thank you, Cole! She is now safe and decompressing in an air conditioned car with one of our volunteers while we await the okay to drop off at SPCA.

FOUND CAT - WELLAND 🐈‍⬛ 🐾

DSH grey tabby, female, no microchip detected.

This little one was found on Lincoln Street and was very lucky to have been taken in by the kind person that found her, as she was seen roaming the street and was nearly struck by a vehicle. She is very scared, but is now safe at the Welland SPCA. ❤️

Update 2: June 9th - She’s enjoying some nice healing baths and is getting some relief from her painful condition. Her personality is starting to come out! Updated pics in the comments.

The outpouring of support, concern, and kindness for this sweet dog has been truly overwhelming. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has shared, commented, reached out, and kept her in their thoughts.

As a team, we have decided to close comments on this post. We appreciate every message and every person who has taken the time to share their thoughts and well wishes.

Thank you for your compassion, understanding, and support. Your concern reminds us how many people care deeply about animals in need, and we are thankful to have such a caring community behind us. ❤️🐾

Update: Confirmed that the medical team has assessed her and she is currently stable. She has been made comfortable and is eating a bit.

FOUND DOG - (SPCA has been contacted regarding her condition)

Canfield - On her way to one of our volunteers in Welland. Once there, will get scanned and cared for until goes to the Welland SPCA.

*REUNITED WITH OWNER*
Sweet Portia has found her way back home thanks to her microchip! And a big thank you to the kind person that found and took care of her until this was possible ❤️🐾

Location: Near Edinburgh Rd., St. Catharines.

Microchip was detected and we are working on getting in contact with the registered owners! 🐾

FOUND KITTEN! 🐱

Location: Empress Avenue - Welland, Ont.
Description: young female DSH calico/tabby, approx. 4 months old. No microchip was detected.
Found in some very kind folks' backyard, but she would not leave, and so it was suspected she had nowhere to go. She was the sweetest lil' gal.

She has been dropped off at the Welland SPCA.
