The Royal Canadian Legion is marking their 100th Anniversary with a painted crosswalk between the Public Safety Building and Social Heart Plaza along 84 Avenue in North Delta.

There will be a dedication to mark the occasion on Saturday, August 29, at 11 am.

Thank you to everyone who helped to make this possible as we celebrate our veterans and the Royal Canadian Legion for a century of service.

🚒🔥 Members of the Delta Firefighters IAFF Local 1763 Executive Board are proud to have represented our membership this week at the 58th International Association of Fire Fighters Biennial Convention in Arlington, Texas.

Our Executive Board is elected by our membership — the brothers and sisters of Local 1763 who proudly serve Delta 24/7, 365 days a year, and have done so professionally since 1963. 🇨🇦

The International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Convention is held every two years, bringing together firefighters and emergency medical workers from across North America to share ideas, learn from one another and help shape the future of our union and our profession. 🤝✊

This year’s theme, “All In,” was a reminder of the commitment we share as firefighters and as a union. As IAFF General President Edward Kelly said during the opening ceremony:

“All in is a promise we make, and it starts with the job.”

That promise — to never stop fighting and never leave an IAFF member behind — was at the centre of the convention. As firefighters, we understand the risks of this profession. Every risk, every threat, we meet head on. 🔥

It was a great opportunity to connect with and learn from so many outstanding Locals across the IAFF, and to bring those conversations and ideas home to Delta.

A special thank you to Arlington Fire Fighters Association Local 1329 for hosting the 58th and welcoming our IAFF brothers and sisters to Arlington. 👏

With September just around the corner, the Healthy Snack Program is gearing up for the 2026-2027 school year. Today we attended the “Back to School Blast” hosted by the City Reach Care Society at the Broadway Church in North Delta, supporting families in need. This event provided a backpack full of school supplies as well as a bag of food for families to take home. The Delta Firefighters Charitable Society through our Healthy Snack Program provided snacks to help fill these backpacks.
