🌱 Our Little Acres fundraiser is growing… but we still need your help! 🌱

Take a look at our growing chart — right now, we’re only 42% of the way to our goal. And with just over three weeks left to sell tickets, we need our community to step up.

Here’s the reality: being open and operational does not mean our childcare centre is financially secure. Little Acres still has an existing mortgage of over half a million dollars, and fundraising plays an important role in helping us continue to operate and keep childcare in our community.

That’s why we’re asking our whole community to help. ❤️ Whether you have a child at Little Acres or simply believe in keeping childcare available in our community, your support makes a difference.

🎟️ Tickets are $120 and give you 12 chances to win throughout the year.

🌟 Meet Our Educator – Alyssa! 🌟

We are so excited to introduce Alyssa, one of the wonderful educators at Little Acres Learning Center! 💚

Alyssa has been working in Early Childhood Education for nearly five years as a Level 3 ECE. Throughout her time working with young children, she has developed a genuine passion for creating positive, welcoming, and engaging experiences where children can learn, grow, and simply enjoy being themselves.

Alyssa is part of our Preschool A – Harvest Room, where she brings her energetic, playful, and caring personality into the classroom each day. She loves getting down on the children's level, joining in their play, and finding ways to make learning fun and meaningful. Whether she is helping children explore a new activity, encouraging them to try something new, or sharing a laugh with them, Alyssa brings a lot of joy and enthusiasm to her work. 💚

One of the things that makes Alyssa so special is the way she naturally makes people feel welcome. She is always looking out for others, making sure everyone feels included, supported, and part of the group. You can often count on Alyssa for a joke down the hallway, a funny face with the kids, or something that brings a smile to someone's day! 😄 the kids will often call her the freeze lady in the summer months.

Her fun-loving and goofy personality is a big part of who she is as an educator. Alyssa believes that having fun, building relationships, and creating a positive environment are an important part of children's experiences at the center. We know her laughter and positive energy will continue to make a difference in our Harvest Room!

Outside of Little Acres, Alyssa lives on a small acreage outside of Kenaston with her fiancé and a whole crew of animals! 🐶🐱🐔🐮 Her home is filled with dogs, cats, chickens, and a cow. Her dogs recently welcomed a litter of puppies, and she is hoping a donkey might be the next addition to the family! 🫏

We are so happy to have Alyssa as part of our Little Acres family and are excited for all the laughter, learning, creativity, and positive energy she brings to our centre each day! 💚

🎉🎂 Happy 1st Birthday, Little Acres Learning Center! 🎂🎉

What an incredible first year it has been! ❤️ We truly couldn’t be more thankful for the amazing staff, generous sponsors, and wonderful community who have supported Little Acres every step of the way.

Thank you to everyone who has donated, volunteered, (we cant slow down though 🤣) cheered us on, supported our fundraisers, and helped make Little Acres the special place it is for our little ones. It takes a village, and we are so lucky to have such an incredible one! 🥰

🌟 Meet Our Educator – Emma! 🌟

We are so excited to introduce Emma, one of the wonderful members of the Little Acres Learning Center team! 💚

Emma has called Canada home for 16 years and has proudly lived in Davidson for the past 13 years. Originally from the Philippines, Emma moved to Canada with hopes of building a brighter future. She is now a proud mom of two children and a valued part of our Little Acres family.

Emma wears many hats around the center, helping as a floater, in the kitchen, and with keeping our center clean and welcoming. She is always willing to jump in wherever she is needed and enjoys supporting the children and working alongside our team.

Emma is known for her warm personality, positive attitude, and wonderful sense of humor. She loves making people laugh and has a way of bringing a little extra happiness to the people around her. She is hardworking, reliable, and takes pride in being someone her team can count on. 💚

Emma also has a love for cooking and works as a cook at the Craik Hospital. 🍳 Her passion for cooking is something she gets to share in both of her roles!

When she's not working, Emma enjoys watching Netflix and spending time with her family and friends. ❤️

We are so grateful to have Emma as part of the Little Acres team and appreciate all the different ways she helps make our center a warm, welcoming, and happy place for children and families.

🌟 Meet Our Educator – Denise! 🌟

We are so excited to introduce Denise, one of the wonderful educators at Little Acres Learning Center! 💚

Denise is currently working toward her Level 1 ECE and brings a genuine love for children, learning, and creating meaningful experiences to our center. She has been working in Davidson since October 2025 and is excited to continue building relationships with the children, families, and team at Little Acres.

Denise grew up in Craik, where she has lived for most of her life, and is a proud mom to two boys. Before joining the Early Childhood Education field, Denise spent several years as the main librarian in Craik. Her time at the library gave her the opportunity to connect with children and families in her community and sparked her passion for creating fun, engaging experiences that encourage children to learn and explore. 📚

Denise loves planning fun activities and watching children thrive. One of her favorite things about working with children is seeing the joy on their faces when they learn a new skill, discover something exciting, or proudly share something they have accomplished. She believes those little moments of excitement and confidence are what make working with children so special. 💚

Denise will be spending time in Preschool B before transitioning to Preschool A, where she will bring her creativity, enthusiasm, and caring nature into the classroom.

And with her background as a librarian, it's no surprise that Denise is a big supporter of libraries and the love of reading! 📖 She understands how powerful books, stories, and opportunities to explore can be in a child's learning and development.

When she's not at Little Acres, Denise enjoys spending time with her family and friends, listening to music, and getting lost in a good audiobook. Most of all, she loves spending time with her two boys. ❤️

We are so happy to have Denise as part of our Little Acres family and look forward to seeing all the wonderful connections, learning experiences, and memories she creates with the children.

✈️ What could you do if you won Trip of the Month?

Last year’s winner chose an incredible Alberta adventure, and here’s what they had to say about their experience:

“Well, I was so excited to win a trip of the month!!

We aren't travellers so this was great! We chose to take a bus tour, "Backroads and Badlands of Alberta" with WestWorld Tours.

We seen so much in a short time, it was really a great tour.

I love bridges and we got to walk across The Star Mine Suspension Bridge and travelled on the 11 bridge road! Seen Hoodoos, canyons, beautiful scenery, Royal Tyrell Museum, Passion Play, live theatre, Anne of Green Gables, went on an old west train ride, visited Fort Saskatchewan.

We thoroughly enjoyed and probably would have never gone if we hadn't won the trip.
