Purple Hills Arts and Heritage Society is committed to ensuring that our arts community is vibrant and our local history is kept alive. Our programs include publishing local histories, heritage lectures, art instruction for children and adults, walking tours, scholarships for students and a range of events that bring the community together. Our annual Arts Festival is one of the highlights of the area’s fall season. Community Based and Community Run

We have a volunteer board and rely on membership fees and sponsorships from local business to fund our initiatives. All the money we receive goes towards the programs that make our community a more interesting and engaging place to live. Our Annual General Meeting provides an opportunity for members to stay up to date on the Society’s activities and finances. A Record of Success

Founded in 1977, Purple Hills has been active in the community for over forty years. We have helped fund Creemore’s Station on the Green, the historic Log Cabin and the Historical Plaques that can be found throughout Creemore. Our Artists in the School program provides art instruction to students at the Nottawasaga and Creemore Public School. In 2003 we were granted charitable status so you receive a tax receipt for your membership fees and sponsorship dollars. Get Involved

Purple Hills is a great way to meet your neighbours especially if you are new to the area it is great way to introduce yourself. Become a member, volunteer at functions, or simply attend our events. We always need people to help out and when you do you are supporting your community.

What a special weekend in Creemore 💜

Arts Fest brought so many people together and it was the people who made the weekend what it was. Artists sharing their work, performers filling the village with music and stories, volunteers giving their time and everyone who came out to experience it and support the arts.

There’s something pretty special about seeing a community come together like this. We’re so grateful to everyone who played a part in making Creemore Arts Fest such a memorable weekend.

Saturday was one for the books at Arts Fest! 💜

And we’re not done yet. There’s another full day of art, stories, makers and fall fun happening in Creemore today! Come meet artists on location throughout the village, browse the Makers Market, and experience Remnants at the Log Cabin. At Station on the Green, step into the immersive multimedia exhibition Odeimin Runners: A Refugium, with a special artist talk about the installation at 12PM. Then, at 1PM, join the Great Canadian Story Exchange for an afternoon of stories and connection. Plus, horse-drawn wagon rides will be running throughout the day.

Join us tomorrow, October 4 at 1PM at the Creemore Village Green for the Great Canadian Story Exchange, led by award-winning storyteller and creator Tracey Erin Smith.

Bring a partner, friend, neighbour, kiddo or even a new story buddy. Share a story, hear a story and be part of Creemore establishing Canada’s first Great Canadian Story Exchange record.

The record is the playful part. The real magic is the people, stories and connections that come together to make it happen. Come enjoy the sunshine, bring someone along and be part of something pretty special.

Arts Fest is almost here! 🍂✨🖌️

This weekend, Creemore comes alive with art, stories, music, makers and, most of all, people.

It’s the people who make this event so special artists sharing their work, performers bringing stories to life, makers creating something new and visitors coming together to experience it all. Whether you’re an art aficionado looking to discover something new, or simply looking for a beautiful fall weekend outdoors, come wander, explore and enjoy the crisp autumn air in Creemore.

Three days until an extraordinary collection of stories comes to life in Creemore ✨

We’re excited to welcome Debbie Ebanks back to Creemore for this year’s Arts Fest, joined by Adrian Kahgee from Odeimin Runners Club. They will be showcasing ‘refugium of infinite stories’, a multimedia installation bringing together film, archival media, beadwork and storytelling.

The exhibition weaves together Anishinaabe and Black stories, exploring connections to land, water, culture and community. Across three chapters, the artists draw on distinct trickster traditions and the stories of communities whose histories are deeply connected to the land, including stories that place Creemore within this larger web of histories and connections.

Come experience the installation and discover the stories woven through the work!
