June at Glenbow Ranch🌳

A new month has arrived at Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park, bringing fresh greenery, blooming wildflowers, and changing views across the landscape.

As the days grow longer and the season takes shape in the land, the park takes on new colour and character with each passing week. From the trails to the hillsides, signs of summer are beginning to emerge throughout the landscape.

While the recent rain may have kept some visitors indoors, it is also helping the landscape thrive. Rainy days are part of the story of the season, bringing renewed growth and shaping the scenery that visitors will enjoy in the weeks ahead.

June also brings a variety of opportunities to experience the park through guided walks, golf cart tours, and other events as the month unfolds. Whether exploring the trails on your own or joining one of our upcoming programs, there are many ways to connect with the landscape and discover something new this month. Check out our website for more information.

Whether under sunny skies or passing clouds, there is always something new to appreciate in the park this time of year.

Did You Know❓
The construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway through Calgary and the Bow Valley helped shape the future development of the surrounding region, including the landscape now known as Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park.

As rail lines expanded through the valley, ranchers, homesteads, quarries, and growing communities followed alongside them, helping influence how the land would be used and experienced over time.

Today, trains continuing to move through the landscape serve as a reminder of the important role the railway played in shaping the Bow Valley and the communities connected throughout it.

Wildlife plays an important role throughout the Bow River corridor, shaping the landscapes and communities that surround us.

On June 11, 2026, the Town of Cochrane will be hosting an engaging evening featuring speaker Brian Keating, exploring how wildlife continues to move through and coexist within our region. Through storytelling and interactive education opportunities, the event offers a chance to learn more about the species that share these spaces with us and the importance of responsible stewardship.

GRPF will also be attending as one of the educational booths participating in this event. Be sure to stop by, say hello to our team, and learn more about the conservation, education, and stewardship initiatives taking place at Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park.

We look forward to seeing you there!
