What story does your journey tell? ❤

Join Bushra this Saturday for "My Journey", a reflective and expressive experience that invites participants to explore emotions, memories, and personal growth through creative expression.

Inspired by Bushra’s artistic representation of her journey in Canada over the last year, participants are invited to reflect on their own journeys and create artwork to add to a collective gallery. Through sketching, collage, painting, weaving, or mixed media, this experience celebrates storytelling, reflection, and the creative process over artistic perfection. ✨

We are deeply saddened by the passing of David Roche on May 27, 2026.

David was an advocate, author, storyteller, performer, and community leader whose impact touched countless lives. In December 2021, he was appointed to the Order of Canada in recognition of his pioneering contributions to disability arts and his dedication to promoting acceptance, inclusion, and diversity throughout Canada and the United States.

Many members of the Curiko community were inspired by David through his ongoing experience, "60 Second Stories." He generously shared his passion for storytelling as a host each month and created a welcoming space where people could express themselves freely. His warm smile, playful sense of humour, and genuine kindness made everyone feel valued and included.

David had a remarkable ability to meet people where they were at. Whether participants arrived feeling joyful, silly, excited, bored, or carrying sadness, he held space for them. Through his encouragement, everyone became a storyteller—whether sharing through song, dance, prepared words, or spontaneous improvisation.

David’s legacy lives on in the stories he inspired, the connections he fostered, and the communities he helped build.

We invite you to share your favourite memories of David and 60 Second Stories in the comments below.

Our heartfelt condolences are with David’s family and friends. ❤

Is there something you’ve always wanted to try? 💡

In this 4-week cohort we’ll grow our ability to take action in uncertainty using improv, coaching, and your personal creative spirit. We’ll set small goals, try things, and change our approach on the fly.

As it is, Curiko as we know it may not be around forever, so if there’s something you’d like the community to support with - do it now! ⚡️

Rodrigo aka Little Nomad joined Curiko over 3 years ago. He has hosted 53 experiences since! 🎉

Since moving to Canada in 2017, “friends came and go, roommates, coworkers, neighbours. Appearing and disappearing. No connection was made.” Now, he’s found a community in Curiko after learning about the platform in an entrepreneurship webinar.

“From having a predated definition of disability, now I understand more and have met people that are stronger than me and that I want to strive to be like.”

Curiko is all about enabling relationships across lines of difference. Folks like Rodrigo move our communities closer to genuine inclusion. Rodrigo is inviting Sheila Malcolmson, MLA to meet directly with Curiko community members, and talk about why it’s essential for belonging & inclusion.
