We’re finally stepping into our future.

We’re proud to announce that the permit for our new Zamar Music community hub has officially been released.

What began as a vision is now becoming a reality — a space built for music, creativity, wellness, and community.

While the road toward development charge relief is far from over, there are still important delegations ahead with the Region of Peel and the Peel District School Board. Our Executive Director, Corey Butler, will continue advocating for this relief as we move forward.

To everyone who has believed in us and stood beside us throughout this journey — thank you. This next chapter is only just beginning.

Every big dream is built one milestone at a time.
At our Spring Student Showcase, we had the privilege of sharing some exciting news with our community:
We’ve secured 75% of the funding needed for our capital project.
What started as a vision is becoming a reality—one that will allow us to serve more students, families, artists, and community members for years to come.
We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has walked this journey with us. The finish line is in sight.

🎵🩺 Music x Health Friday

Did you know that playing an instrument might be good for your heart? 💙

A study conducted by researchers at Harvard Medical School found that adults who regularly played a musical instrument had lower blood pressure levels than those who did not. Playing an instrument helps stimulate neural pathways involved in cardiovascular regulation, leading to improved heart health.

Whether you’re picking up an instrument for the first time or returning to an old favourite, making music could be another way to support your overall well being.

Sometimes, the most powerful voices aren’t the loudest.  They’re the ones that bring people back to one another.
At our 2026 Spring Student Showcase, Aneya Coward delivered a breathtaking performance of Hear My Voice by Celeste, but her performance was more than a song.  It was a story.
The stage opened with conflict.  Harsh words.  Raised voices.  Division.  Three instructors and Aneya’s mother stood frozen in the middle of an argument after she gently tapped each of them on the shoulder.
Then, she sang.
With every lyric, Hear My Voice became a reminder that compassion can speak louder than anger.  Hope can exist even in moments of tension.  Music has the power to soften hearts in ways words sometimes cannot.
As the final note faded, Aneya touched each person once more. This time, they came back to life not in conflict, but in reconciliation.  Embracing one another in a powerful image of healing.
This is why we do what we do at Zamar.
We believe music is more than performance. It’s connection. It’s empathy. It’s healing.  A language that reminds us of our shared humanity, even when words fail.
Thank you, Aneya.  Your performance reminds us that every voice has the power to make a difference.❤️🎶

A friendly reminder to our families that The Academy is closed for the summer as our team focuses on completing our capital expansion project and preparing our new space for reopening this September.

This short pause in programming allows us to dedicate our full attention to creating a beautiful new home for our community, and we can’t wait to welcome you back this fall.
