🍂 Dry leaves, overgrown bush, and stacked firewood near your home are fuel waiting for a spark.

This season don’t feed the wildfires.

🍁Thursday Thoughts 🍁
As many of you know, one of our many side hustles outside of the shop…
is making maple syrup.
And if you’ve ever seen a sugar shack going full tilt this time of year…
you already know
steam pouring, smoke rolling, arch ripping…
From the outside it can look a whole lot like
"YUP… that place is definitely on fire" 😅
Well this week a few newer kids in the neighborhood saw it going
and thought exactly that!
Parents did what good people do
they called 911.
And honestly
we mean this
Thank you!
Because one day it could be real
and that kind of looking out for each other matters more than anything.
Now here’s the part that stuck with us!
The crew from McNab/Braeside Fire Department got the call
and before trucks even had a chance to make it all the way out
one of the guys no gear no lights no nothing
RAN‼️
like actually ran from his house down the road in a t shirt just to make sure we were alright.
And I’ll tell you right now…
if any one of us working the bush that day tried that…
we would’ve made it about halfway down the driveway and needed a stretcher and a juice box 🤣
No question about it!
A few more showed up right behind him and they were able to get everything sorted before the trucks even rolled all the way in.
Every single one of them just solid
calm respectful professional!
That’s the kind of people you hope show up when something’s wrong.
And it’s easy to forget
these are volunteers.
They drop whatever they’re doing
supper family time relaxing at home
and they go.
So seriously thank you to the McNab Braeside crew
we appreciated that more than you probably realize.
And hey if anyone knows those lads or can tag the department for us we’d love that
they deserve the recognition.
And to the neighbors who made the call
thank you too.
You did exactly what you should’ve done.
Around here we look out for each other
that’s just how it is.
We’ve said it before and we’ll keep saying it
we don’t just have the best customers
we’ve got the best damn neighbors anyone could ask for.

🚨EDIT: Because we've been asked several times now, we were in fact NOT on fire. It was a false alarm.
We also know it's not Thursday... It's been a long week we forgot how to count and calendar 😬🚨
