In addition to serving as a firefighter Russ is also a former deputy chief for ARES. Russ joined the department as a way to give back to his community. Russ loves classic cars and enjoys spending time with his family and watching his grandkids compete in different events.

Bill joined the department as a way to give back to his community. In his spare time Bill enjoys working on anything with an engine and spending time with his family. Bill is also an active volunteer at YFC Altona and the kids ministry in his Church.

Altona thank you for your generosity! Our annual boot drive at this years Manitoba Sunflower Festival parade raised $4,290! ARES is happy to announce that all money raised through this years boot drive will be donated to Altona palliative care.

Steven decided to join the fire department because his Dad was already a fire fighter in Altona at the time and he saw the department as a great way to serve the community.

In his spare time Steven enjoys spending time with family and friends and working some more.

Manitoba Sunflower Festival starts tonight with our family fun event alongside Sun Valley Co-op. We will have our trucks out and equipment set up at Parkside school from 6:30-7:30. Come and say hi, check out some of the equipment we use and try your luck hitting targets with a firehose! After our event make your way to the park for SVC's outdoor movie and if thats not enough there is even a free BBQ at the park starting at 6pm.
