📢 The Kandy Declaration, a collective roadmap for systemic transformation from the 3rd Nyéléni Global Forum, is out now!

More than a statement, the Declaration is the fruit of an unprecedented collective process: shaped through years of local and regional assemblies, and translated into 18 languages during the Forum to ensure that every voice could be heard and every word shared in equality.

It stands as a common political compass for the movements of the world – guiding struggles for food sovereignty, health for all, social and solidarity economy, climate and gender justice, and peoples’ rights. It denounces the systems of capitalism, patriarchy, and colonialism that drive hunger, war, and ecological collapse, while affirming the power of peoples to build economies of care, solidarity, and self-determination.

Más que un texto, esta declaración es el fruto de un proceso colectivo sin precedentes: construida a lo largo de años de asambleas locales y regionales, y traducida a 18 idiomas durante el Foro, para que todas las voces fueran escuchadas y cada palabra compartida en igualdad.

Se erige como una brújula política común para los movimientos del mundo — guiando las luchas por la soberanía alimentaria, la justicia climática y de género, y los derechos de los pueblos. Delegates from all regions came together to present the recommendations drawn from the Nyéléni Declaration.

✊ United for food sovereignty: systemic transformation, now or never!

Lider Gongora : “Desde la maternidad de los mares y océanos, el manglar” fueron las palabras con las que inició su intervención el dirigente de los Pueblos del Manglar y del Mar, Líder Góngora Farías, en representación de la Redmanglar Internacional y del Foro Mundial de Pueblos Pescadores y Recolectores (WFFP).

Este mensaje, cargado de memoria, fuerza y esperanza, marcó la participación activa de nuestras delegaciones en el Foro y permitió que la pesca y la recolección artesanal se posicionen con dignidad como verdaderos “espacios de vida” en la agenda internacional.

Nuestro liderazgo colectivo demostró que no somos actores marginales, sino pueblos milenarios —negros, cholos, montubios, indígenas y comunidades costeras— que habitamos y cuidamos el Pacífico Sur desde hace más de 10.000 años antes de Cristo. Somos guardianes de mares, ríos, manglares y costas, y protagonistas en la defensa de los bienes comunes.

Asimismo, recordamos al mundo una verdad irrefutable: las mujeres recolectoras de mariscos representan alrededor del 50% del sector de la pesca artesanal, según la FAO, y su visibilización es un derecho histórico que no puede seguir siendo negado.
Manifiesto de los pueblos del manglar y del mar
En este Foro Mundial declaramos:
Exigimos el reconocimiento de nuestros maritorios como territorios de vida, donde mar y comunidad se entrelazan.

Denunciamos la “economía azul”, la pesca industrial, la acuicultura intensiva y la conservación impuesta, que generan despojo, violencia y destrucción.
Defendemos soluciones comunitarias: restaurar manglares y arrecifes, garantizar el pescado y los mariscos como alimento, proteger la vida y no el mercado.

Reafirmamos que las mujeres son cuidadoras y decisoras, y deben ser incluidas plenamente en las instancias de poder y decisión.
Demandamos justicia climática y energética, así como solidaridad con todos los pueblos que enfrentan militarización, racismo y despojo, desde Palestina hasta las comunidades costeras del mundo.
Este Foro hemos colocado nuestras voces, luchas y propuestas se escuchen en el escenario internacional. No nos vamos invisibilizados: nos vamos fortalecidos, unidos y con el compromiso de seguir defendiendo mares, ríos, manglares y costas como bienes comunes para el presente y el futuro.

Care is our first act of sovereignty, rooted in ancient wisdom and sacred knowledge, protected from greed and held in trust.

We dream of medicines and nourishment as shared gifts—free from patents and profit—and a world where justice and compassion replace the war on drugs. Health is a collective journey, born from the land, the body, and our common struggle.

Today we're focusing on: Climate justice and energy sovereignty

False solutions - carbon and biodiversity offsets, REDD+, debt-for-nature swaps, and other schemes -cast shadows that deepen the crisis and silence the earth’s true voice.
But real solutions rise like dawn: a just transition centering those who have long carried the burden, reparations that restore what colonialism and greed have taken, community-led energy, agroecology, and policies that breathe climate justice into life.

Energy sovereignty blooms quietly alongside - rooted in the hands of peoples, in respect for nature’s rhythms, and in the shared right to clean, public, and democratic energy that fuels hope and sustains futures.

🇵🇸 | When peoples are besieged by land, sea, and air, and even words are silenced, it becomes essential to open a path toward the free peoples of the world.

We unite in solidarity with Palestine and with all struggles for dignity and freedom. This is a cry for human dignity, a call for justice, and an invitation to converge in solidarity.

Today we're focusing on: Land, territories and Agrarian Reform

Our first territory is the body. Our first horizon is the land. From the forests to the rivers, from the mountains to the coasts, we defend the right to live well, in harmony with all beings. We carry the wounds of dispossession, but also the strength of ancestral struggles and collective dreams of justice.

Territories are not resources—they are alive. Every tree, every wave, every seed speaks of resistance. Against land grabbing, concentration, and corporate control, we affirm: agrarian reform is not a policy, it is a path to dignity. Without it, the hands that feed the world will remain far from the soil they nurture. Land must belong to those who make it live—the struggle for territory is the struggle for life, free, diverse, and rooted in the commons.
