Celebrating 60 Years of the Bermuda Sea Cadet Corps

WISTA BERMUDA was proud to join supporters at Government House this week as the Bermuda Sea Cadet Corps celebrated its 60th anniversary.

Hosted under the patronage of H.E. Governor Andrew Murdoch — a former Sea Cadet himself — the Trafalgar Night Dinner reflected on six decades of service since 1966, developing leadership, discipline and confidence in young people 10-18 years of age.

The evening also launched the Corps’ $2M capital campaign to transform its St. George’s Unit building on Convict Bay Lane into a modern, fit-for-purpose facility for future generations.

Congratulations to CO Lt Cdr Michael Frith and all Cadets!

WISTA Bermuda extends our sincere appreciation to the Bermuda Maritime Academy for hosting two engaging tours on May 16 and 30.

Our members enjoyed an informative presentation, an open Q&A session, and a guided tour of their impressive training facility. Each visit offered valuable insight into the Academy’s programs and the critical role they play in developing Bermuda’s maritime talent pipeline.

We are truly grateful for their continued support of WISTA Bermuda and for their commitment to strengthening our maritime community.

If you’re not familiar with the opportunities they offer, we encourage you to reach out to the Bermuda Maritime Academy to learn more about their courses, certifications, and pathways into the industry.
