🇧🇬 A HISTORIC MOMENT FOR BULGARIA! NIKOLA TSOLOV WILL DEBUT IN FORMULA 1! 🏎️🏁
At just 19, Nikola Tsolov is on the verge of an achievement no Bulgarian driver has ever recorded – taking part in an official session of a Formula 1 race weekend!
On 30 October 2026, the Bulgarian talent will get behind the wheel of the Racing Bulls car during the first free practice for the Mexico Grand Prix at the Hermanos Rodríguez circuit.
The news has now been officially confirmed by the team. Nikola will drive Liam Lawson's car and will get the chance to show his skills among the best drivers in the world.
His road to this moment is filled with years of hard work, discipline and impressive results.
In 2022, Nikola became champion in Spanish Formula 4. In 2025 he finished as runner-up in Formula 3, and in 2026 he continued his rise in Formula 2, where he already has six wins and is fighting for the championship title.
In August he also took an important step towards Formula 1, covering 690 kilometres in a Racing Bulls car during a test at the Imola circuit.
Now comes the next big challenge – his first participation in an official practice session of the world championship.
This does not yet mean that Nikola has a permanent place in Formula 1 or that he will take part in the race itself in Mexico. But it means something extremely important – a Bulgarian driver is getting a real opportunity to show at the highest level what he is capable of.
