The CONTEMPORARY ART FOUNDATION is founded in Sofia, Bulgaria in 1996 by a group of Bulgarian artists and critics. The Foundation’s primary field of interest is contemporary visual art, including painting, photography, installation, sculpture, and multi-media. CAF develops and assists many aspects of contemporary art: organizing and hosting representative exhibitions; sponsoring theoretical seminars and symposia; broadening cultural contact world-wide; helping support the introduction of young artists abroad; developing and delivering educational programs; and establishing a collection of contemporary art works.
