University of South Florida is recruiting individuals for SUNRISE FA 2, a phase 2 trial investigating the AAV gene therapy LX2006. This study, sponsored by Lexeo Therapeutics, aims to evaluate the safety and efficacy of LX2006 in participants with FA cardiomyopathy. Participants must be at least six years old, have FA symptom onset prior to age 25, and meet other study eligibility criteria as assessed by a study doctor. Participation in the study involves multiple study visits over the course of five years.
This study will enroll two cohorts. Cohort one will include individuals 16 years and older who will be randomized to receive one dose of LX2006 at the start of the study or one dose of LX2006 after 26 weeks of observation. A future cohort will enroll individuals between the ages of 6-15 years who will all receive one dose of LX2006. Screening for both cohorts is currently open for individuals six years and older.
This is a global study with multiple sites planned inside and outside of the United States. FARA will continue to update the community as additional sites open.
