Gezocht: leden voor de financiële commissie

Het intern reglement van Cricket Vlaanderen VZW bepaalt dat een financiële commissie het bestuursorgaan bijstaat.

Je vindt ons intern reglement op onze website, link onderaan deze post. Artikel 15 op bladzijde 25 beschrijft de financiële commissie.

In het kort de rol van de financiële commissie:

- Adviseert het bestuursorgaan over financiële aangelegenheden

- Waakt erover, maakt wensen en bezwaren kenbaar aan het bestuursorgaan

- Doet voorstellen om de financiële situatie te verbeteren

- Doet voorstellen om de financiële processen efficiënter te maken

- Is bevoegd om het bestuursorgaan of een commissie te adviseren over:

* Vaststelling of wijziging van lidgeld

* Overeenkomsten met financiële impact

Onze penningmeester, Peter Beyen, is de facto lid van de financiële commissie. Wij hebben onze moederfederatie BCF gevraagd om iemand af te vaardigen.

Daarnaast zoeken wij nog iemand van onze leden. De geschikte kandidaat hoeft geen deel van het bestuur uit te maken van een club. Kennis van financiën en boekhouding is wel vereist om deze rol te kunnen opnemen.

Een ideale kans voor iemand die dit op zijn CV wil zetten.

De taak is onbezoldigd. De financiële commissie vergadert 4 keer per jaar.

Wanted: Members for the Financial Committee

The internal regulations of Cricket Vlaanderen state that a financial committee supports the board of directors.

You can find our internal regulations here; Article 15 on page 25 describes the financial committee.

In short, the role of the financial committee:

- Advises the board of directors on financial matters

- Monitors and communicates concerns and recommendations to the board

- Makes proposals to improve the financial situation

- Makes proposals to make financial processes more efficient

- Is authorized to advise the board or a committee on:

* Setting or modifying membership fees

* Agreements with financial impact

Our treasurer, Peter Beyen, is a de facto member of the financial committee. We have asked our parent federation, Belgian Cricket Federation (BCF), to appoint a representative.

In addition, we are looking for one more member from within our community. The ideal candidate does not need to be part of a club’s board. However, knowledge of finance and accounting is required to take on this role.

An excellent opportunity for someone looking to add this experience to their CV.

This is an unpaid position. The financial committee meets four times per year.

Oostende, cricketstad aan zee, heeft vandaag twee recreatieve cricket-slagkooien in gebruik genomen. De kooien, elk 7 meter lang en 4 meter hoog en breed, staan op het Sint-Catharinaplein en aan de Agora Space op de Guldensporenlaan.

Op beide locaties kwamen recreatieve cricketspelers regelmatig een balletje slaan. Buurtbewoners en pleingebruikers klaagden echter dat de ballen hen om de oren vlogen of op hun geparkeerde auto’s belandden.

Via onze penningmeester Peter, een Oostendenaar, deed het stadsbestuur een beroep op de expertise van Cricket Vlaanderen (CV) om het juiste materiaal te selecteren, de kooien correct te plaatsen en de uitrol te begeleiden.

Dankzij de goede samenwerking tussen de stadsdiensten en de experts van Cricket Vlaanderen werd het project succesvol gelanceerd. Nu volgt de fase van evaluatie en bijsturing.

They played outstanding cricket throughout the tournament and truly deserve this achievement. Well done to the entire team.

Friendship Cup – Ghent Meersen Ground

Yesterday, Cricket Vlaanderen had the pleasure of hosting along with BCF - Friendship Cup 2025 at the Ghent MeersenGround, with three participating teams: the visiting team from the Cambridge Cricket Club UK, Turnhout cc, and Brugge cc.

The day started perfectly on time, with all teams arriving promptly at 9:00 AM. After a short introduction, we gathered for group photos and enjoyed some light refreshments before the first match began.

The matches were played in a wonderful spirit—competitive at times, but always friendly and respectful. The true highlight was not just the cricket, but the camaraderie shared among the players, spectators, and organizers.

We paused for lunch around 12:30 PM before resuming play in the afternoon. By 4:30 PM, the final game concluded, and Bruges emerged as the champions of the tournament. We were delighted to present them with the Friendship Cup trophy and a souvenir from Ghent as a token of appreciation.

A special word of thanks goes to Majid, who stood as umpire for the entire day. His calm, disciplined, and professional manner deserves the highest praise, and we strongly recommend him for a special recognition award. Our gratitude also extends to Athreya, our CV board member, who supported with scoring and coordination throughout the day.

Events like these remind us that when we come together, share responsibilities, and support one another, we can create something truly memorable. We deeply appreciate the effort of the UK team for making the journey to join us—it was a valuable experience, and we’ve taken important input from them to make the next edition even better.

In the end, the Friendship Cup was not just about cricket—it was about unity, teamwork, and celebrating the spirit of friendship across borders.

Thank you to everyone who contributed and participated. We look forward to seeing you all at the next event.
