How can we prevent conflict, aggression and school violence at an early stage?

As part of the preparation of a new Erasmus+ KA220 project proposal, we are exploring the experiences and professional development needs of teachers and other school professionals working with children in late childhood and adolescents.

The aim is to better understand the challenges school professionals face and identify the training, support and practical resources they need. The findings will help inform the development of relevant training and resources tailored to real school contexts across Europe.

The questionnaire is anonymous and takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. There are no right or wrong answers — we are interested in your professional perspective.

Thank you for sharing your experience (before 25 October) and contributing to this initiative!

One of our new partners is INSEI, the Institut National Supérieur des Formations et de Recherche pour l’Éducation Inclusive (Paris, France).

INSEI is the French national institute for training and research dedicated to inclusive education, operating under the joint supervision of the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Professional Integration.

Researchers at INSEI are preparing an international training programme that will be open to participants from around the world. We are pleased that participants undertaking an Erasmus+ mobility will also be able to join this training programme.

The training explores inclusive education through two complementary lenses: didactic accessibility (e.g. co-teaching and task design) and pedagogical accessibility (differentiated instruction and Universal Design for Learning).

Jobshadowing in Almada 🇵🇹: inspiration for inclusive education

This school year, teachers from our Strong Schools consortium visited schools in Almada, Portugal, and returned full of inspiration.

From personalized learning at AlmaSã - Centro de Educação Especial de Almada (CEEA), the special education centre in Almada to the inclusive library initiatives at Escola Secundária do Monte de Caparica, the teachers saw how collaboration, trust and a shared commitment to every student create truly inclusive schools.

They also gained valuable insights into teacher professional development through their visit to Almadaforma Centro de Formação, the Centre for professional development in Almada. Thank you to all the hosts for sharing your expertise!

𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

Recently, pupils from OBS Wiene in the Netherlands visited the primary school VBS De Watermolen in Heule (Kortrijk) as part of an international exchange experience. During their stay, the pupils joined classroom activities, discovered a different school environment and spent time learning alongside their Belgian peers.

Although both schools share the same language, the exchange offered valuable opportunities to explore cultural differences, develop social skills and broaden perspectives. Experiences like these help young learners become more open-minded, confident and curious about the world around them.

Eekhout Academy put the schools in touch with one another. We strongly believe that internationalisation starts with meaningful encounters. Even short exchanges can have a lasting impact on pupils, teachers and schools, while helping to foster European citizenship and intercultural understanding from an early age.

What a journey it has been!

On 29 April 2026, we proudly hosted the final Kick-On EU Conference of the TASC Teacher Academy at VIVES University of Applied Sciences in Bruges.

After an introduction to the project and its achievements, we were honoured to welcome keynote contributions from Ljubica Petrovic Baronica, coordinator for Teacher Academies at the European Commission, and Dirk Kerckhoven, policy advisor at Catholic Education Flanders. Both speakers highlighted the growing importance of Teacher Academy projects and their role in strengthening teacher education across Europe.

We were also pleased to feature a presentation by Daniel Cosmin Andronache, who shared key insights on the project’s impact, as well as the policy recommendations and guidelines developed throughout TASC. Participants were additionally introduced to the TASC Kick-On Promotion Film, now available online via our official website (https://vivesweb.be/tasc/tasc-video/).

Throughout the day, participants engaged in a rich and diverse programme of 20 interactive workshops. These sessions were delivered by members of the TASC consortium and external experts, covering both the core content of the Teacher Academy and the five modules of the EU joint training programme on Sustainable Communication. Topics ranged from empowering teachers through practical toolkits, to strengthening teacher trainer competences, and exploring the long-term sustainability, dissemination, and valorisation of the programme.

The conference marked not only the culmination of an inspiring project, but also the beginning of its continued impact in practice.
