Aruba’s Shoco Sanctuary Visible from the Moon!

Aruba Birdlife Conservation extends its sincere thanks to the Artemis II Shoco Volunteers for making it possible, even from behind the Moon, to highlight exactly where the sanctuary of this endangered Aruba Burrowing Owl is located on planet Earth.

We would also like to kindly ask Aruba’s own Dr. Edward Cheung, our NASA professional, to convey a message to the crew of Artemis II: we are truly excited and inspired by this remarkable act of awareness and conservation.

Dr. Cheung, please let them know that we are deeply grateful. Aruba Birdlife Conservation warmly invites the crew of the Artemis II to visit Aruba and experience the sanctuary firsthand. It would be our honor and privilege to welcome such special guests.

We wish you a completely successful mission and a very safe return.
