For over 200 million years, turtles have roamed our planet — but today they face threats they were never built to withstand: habitat loss, plastic pollution, and climate change. Right here in Aruba and across the Caribbean, sea turtles are true guardians of our ocean — maintaining seagrass beds, balancing marine populations, and spreading vital nutrients through our waters. All four species found in Aruba — the Green, Loggerhead, Hawksbill, and rare Leatherback — are endangered and need our help. 💚

> Keep beaches dark at night during nesting season
> Support local conservation efforts like the Turtugaruba Foundation

United Nations (WWD) is celebrated every year on March 3rd to honor wild animals and plants. Every year, we recognize the unique roles and contributions of wildlife to people and the planet.

The theme for 2026 is Medicinal and Aromatic Plants: Conserving Health, Heritage and Livelihoods.🌎

Essential for both human health and ecological balance, Medicinal and Aromatic Plants serve varied purposes such as medicine, cosmetics, food and luxuries. They also play a crucial role in supporting ecosystems by stabilizing soils, promoting biodiversity and providing essential resources for pollinators, such as bees and hummingbirds. However, many of these valuable species face growing threats from habitat destruction, overharvesting and illegal trade, making their conservation a global priority.

It is estimated that Aruba has between 30,000 - 40,000 homeless animals. 😱 But what is the solution?

Prevention is the first step in breaking the cycle of unwanted litters, abandonment, overcrowding in shelters and strays roaming the island. Acting before the problem escalates means reducing animal suffering and promoting a more responsible approach to pet ownership. 🧐

How can you contribute?

As Aruba celebrates the end of 2025 with dazzling that marvel young and old, remember that your pets do not feel the same way. 🎇 They could use our help to feel a little more comfortable during this time of the year.

For this reason, we would like to offer some for our . Please keep your pets inside if you can and take every precaution to keep them safe. Too many pets go missing this time of the year. 🙁 We are already seeing too many pets missing and cannot begin to describe the heartbreak and anxiety experienced.
