A friendly group of artists, from beginners to experienced, in the Cherry Capital of Australia, south-west slopes of NSW

The Young Society of Artists Inc (YSA) was formed in 1982. The Burrangong Gallery has seen many homes and is now housed in the Young Visitors’ Centre at the old Railway Station building in Lovell St, Young. It is open seven days a week.YSA is a non-profit organisation that strives to encourage public awareness and appreciation of fine art.Many successful exhibitions have been held. Exhibitions include the Annual Cherry Festival Competitive Art Exhibition and the Annual Lambing Flat Festival Art Exhibition. Exhibitions at Burrangong Gallery are changed monthly. Guest artists are invited, along with members’ work, for display and sale.The Monday Art Group meets in the Southern Cross Hall, from 11am to 7pm for both day evening groups, for a gold coin donation.Interested people are invited to join the YSA, to help support the gallery and the arts in Young. You don’t have to be an artist, simply be interested in arts and culture. Membership is $30 per annum, or a ‘Friend of the Gallery’ is $10 per annum.Workshops and group excursions are also planned for each year.

The Young Society of Artists Inc. invites local artists and photographers to enter the 43rd Cherry Festival Competition and Art Exhibition.
Entry Forms
Entry forms are available from Southern Cross Cinema, Young Town Hall and the Young Visitors Centre. They can also be downloaded from the Young Society of Artists website.
Important Dates: entry due by Wednesday, 11 November.
Read the conditions of entry carefully before submitting.
Artwork Delivery

Burrangong Gallery Young Visitors Centre newly opened exhibition “Outdoors.” presented by members of the Young Society of Artists, it highlights the group’s collaborative plein air sessions. In 2025/26, they explored locations such as the Young Chinese Gardens & Town Weir, Clifton House & Gardens, Galong St Clements Retreat Centre, Monteagle, and Glencara Rustic Gardens. The Hilltops Plein Air Drawing Group brings together artists from across the Hilltops LGA, including Taylors Flat, Boorowa, Harden, Murringo, Young, and beyond.
