What. A. Night! 💥

💫 Some friendly new faces. Some that are very familiar and that get in and help an Ambassador out with the set up and pack down.

💫 A bright and sparkly gift that added ambience at the beginning.

💫 The first ever song played at the first ever No Lights No Lycra in 2009, as our warm up to a then absolutely pumping playlist that travelled through variations and combinations of rock, house, dance, pop and even a genre called phonk.

💫 Some clapping; some cheering and whooping; and definitely some foot stomping.

💫 We had a range of ages represented tonight and lots of people who travelled quite a way for the experience.

Thank you to those who came along tonight and for all the song requests for next month too! I'm looking forward to doing it all again with you on the 16th July!!! 💃🥳🕺💖

Check out who's coming to dance at No Lights No Lycra THIS THURSDAY!!! 🕺

It's none other than THE DANCING GRANDAD! 💫

A super cool guy with a super cool story, we are very excited to welcome him to our community, our hall and our dance floor. Michael's story has struck a cord with me because I know he's not the only one in the big wide world who didn't always get to dance exactly how they wanted to....and yet he's found a way to do A LOT of dancing now! 💥

From hearing the message as a child that "Boys don't dance" to dancing multiple times a week at multiple venues in his 50's, it seems he and dancing, but also he and No Lights No Lycra are just made for one another! 💛

Maybe you can hear parts of your own story reflected in his. Maybe you want your own relationship to dance to shift somehow. Whatever it may be, we've got you. No lights, no steps, no judgement. Come as you are and leave a little lighter than when you walked in. Find Michael's story at
