No Lights No Lycra Wolvi would like to thank the Wolvi Hall Committee for their ongoing commitment and support to our dance events and community. We might be small and growing, but gee we have a lot of heart! We love that hall dancefloor and the sound system is what gets us going. Here's to another 7 months and beyond!

When I walked in to set up on Thursday night, I wasn't sure I could do it, or that dancing would make me feel any better. I should have known better 🤣 Was I full of life again at the end of the night? Yes! Had my gratitude for what i have and strength to face my challenges returned? Yes! Did my body and brain feel lighter and will that last for days to come? You bet! Such is the power of what we're doing here.

You might come to a No Lights sesh for the pure joy of dancing. You might come for exercise. You might come for emotional and mental release or something else entirely. It's all welcome because you do you while others do them, in the safety of the dark. And there's something truly special about that.

No Lights No Lycra WOLVI is now 7 MONTHS OLD! Our cake and tea celebration on Thursday night was lovely and a huge thank you goes out to:

❤️ Brad, Julie W and Amy for being the best set up and pack down crew and overall supporters.
❤️ Susie and Michael for helping to get us started.
❤️ All our dancers, whether regular, newbies or one-timer, for their energy and song requests.

Hello Wolvi, Gympie and Dancers Everywhere. I am so so sorry to say that I need to cancel tonight's wonderful dance session as I've sustained an injury that requires some time, thought and rest from me. No Lights No Lycra Wolvi will be back at it next month, on Thursday 17th September, same time, same place. We will have a belated 6 month anniversary celebration then!
Wishing you all an excellent Thursday and if it's not, then a little time to feel into what it is that you need today.

I have to say, this song request from The Killers has to be one of my all time favourites. Is there a more apt question that could be asked of us? Are we human, or are we dancer?

In a world that can at times feel hard, unfair and outright tough, No Lights No Lycra is an opportunity to leave it behind for one hour and join another one. A world where dancing is pure magic, pure joy, pure exhilaration.

What. A. Night! 💥

💫 Some friendly new faces. Some that are very familiar and that get in and help an Ambassador out with the set up and pack down.

💫 A bright and sparkly gift that added ambience at the beginning.

💫 The first ever song played at the first ever No Lights No Lycra in 2009, as our warm up to a then absolutely pumping playlist that travelled through variations and combinations of rock, house, dance, pop and even a genre called phonk.

💫 Some clapping; some cheering and whooping; and definitely some foot stomping.

💫 We had a range of ages represented tonight and lots of people who travelled quite a way for the experience.

Thank you to those who came along tonight and for all the song requests for next month too! I'm looking forward to doing it all again with you on the 16th July!!! 💃🥳🕺💖
