Tahera visited our Illawarra boutique after her daughter encouraged her to book an appointment with us, following a Dress for Success workshop.

Tahera is preparing for several interviews as she looks for work as an admin assistant. She had also been invited to attend a special function and needed an outfit that would help her feel confident, comfortable and ready to walk into the room.

Our free styling service provides professional clothing and personalised support at no cost to women who need our services, helping remove some of the practical barriers that can stand in the way of work and opportunity.

Styling appointments are available at Dress for Success Illawarra throughout June.

These appointments are for women who are preparing for an interview, job searching, returning to work or starting a new role.

Our volunteers are here to help you feel confident and ready. During your appointment, we’ll work with you to choose an outfit that suits you and provide guidance and support to help you prepare for the next step.

Appointments are free of charge, and the clothing is free to keep.

Available appointment times:

Tuesdays: 10am, 11am and 12pm
Wednesdays: 10am, 11am and 12pm
Thursdays: 10am, 11am and 12pm

Last week our team attended APM Dapto’s Careers Expo, connecting with women exploring employment, training and new opportunities.

One of the most valuable parts of these events is helping women understand that Dress for Success is more than clothing.

Through personalised styling, interview preparation, workshops and practical support, we help women feel confident and ready to take the next step.

Many women told us they had never realised these services were available to them.

Thank you to the APM team for creating opportunities for organisations to work together and support women across the Illawarra.
