Meet Mayan 👋

Mayan is currently working as Admin Support & VET Cluster Coordinator Support at GRLLEN.

She has worked as a maths and food technology teacher since 2017, transitioning to VET trainer in 2025, and has enjoyed moving across different schools and teams throughout her career. Prior to teaching, Mayan worked as an events coordinator, project manager, and volunteer.

Mayan is motivated by giving students a voice and leading by example through organisation and authenticity. She can speak 4 languages and is currently studying career development.

Building Careers Geelong is back this month, bringing together over 60 students from across the Geelong region to explore careers in the building and construction industry 🏗️

Students will take part in hands-on trade activities at The Gordon, visit a live construction site, and hear directly from apprentices and industry representatives about career pathways in the sector.

The upcoming Geelong Careers Expo has been featured by local media, with excitement building for the July event.

The expo is already 80% sold, with 74 exhibitors and sponsors confirmed to date. Updated exhibitor information is available on the website, and we are now working closely with the expo team and convention centre to coordinate and confirm attendance times.

Courtney has over 20 years of experience supporting young people and individuals within the community from all walks of life. She is passionate about helping young people achieve their goals and transition into education, training, employment, and fulfilling life activities.

Are you ready to be part of something impactful?

Today marks the launch of the WOW – Health & Community Services Program, proudly supported by the Victorian Government.

With preparations in place, the program is set to welcome close to 80 students for the first time, bringing together schools, educators, and industry partners.

From hands-on experiences to meaningful industry engagement, this initiative connects learning with future careers and supports informed pathway decisions.

This program is a Geelong Region LLEN and Skilling The Bay partnership. The WOW: Health & Community Services program is supported by Victorian Government.
