IT'S PACER WEEK!
We are very excited to introduce our pacers for Pacer Week happening this week at Reddall Reserve parkrun: These volunteers have been carefully hand-selected and will run at even and consistent speeds to help others achieve specific time goals whilst providing motivation, encouragement, and avoiding starting out too fast! Our pacers will be identified by wearing high-visibility vests with goal times clearly visible on their back.
Here are your Pacers:
20:00 Minutes - Aaron "Have Fun" WILSON!
22:30 Minutes - Mariana "Β‘Γndale, Γ‘ndale!" BYRNE!
25:00 Minutes - David "We will rock you" PAUL!
27:30 Minutes - Matt "Keep Running" MEURANT!
30:00 Minutes - Aaron "Energizer" BOWDEN!

KEY REASONS:
- Pacers help runners hit specific, target times (eg. 20, 25, 30, 35 minutes).
- Pacers maintain a steady rhythm (even splits), which is often more effective than running faster early and slowing down.
- Pacers offer encouragement during difficult parts of the course, especially in the final kilometer.
- Following a pacer teaches runners how to manage their energy over the 5km distance.
- Pacing counts as a volunteer role for the pacer, who will also achieve a run credit.
NEXT EVENTS:
Reddall Reserve parkrun will be holding a PACER WEEK every second week of every second month - next events:
- August 8
- October 10
- December 12
