Today marks the start of Men’s Health Week, an important opportunity to highlight the mental health and emotional wellbeing of men and boys in our communities.

Men’s Health Week encourages open conversations about mental health, helping to break down stigma and create space for men to seek support when they need it. It’s also a time to reflect on how we can better support men’s wellbeing and improve mental health outcomes.

Looking after yourself and your mates starts with mental health - take time to check in, start a conversation, and reach out for support when you need it.

Free and confidential help is available through MensLine Australia (1300 789 978) and the NSW Mental Health Line (1800 011 511).

🌈 Pride Month: Celebrating Identity, Connection and Wellbeing

This Pride Month, we acknowledge and celebrate the strength, resilience, diversity and contributions of LGBTQIA+ communities.

Pride is more than a celebrationβ€”it is also a reminder of the importance of creating safe, inclusive and affirming spaces where people can be their authentic selves. Research consistently shows that when individuals feel accepted, respected and connected, their mental health and wellbeing improve.

At the same time, many LGBTQIA+ people continue to experience discrimination, stigma and barriers to accessing support, which can impact mental health. As a community, we all have a role to play in fostering belonging, understanding and inclusion.

This June, we stand with LGBTQIA+ individuals, families and allies. We celebrate the courage it takes to live authentically, honour the history of those who have advocated for equality, and reaffirm our commitment to creating environments where everyone feels seen, valued and supported.

Because everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive, be heard, and live with pride. 🌈

Thank a First Responder Day – 10 June 2026 πŸ’™

Today, we join communities across Australia in recognising and thanking the incredible first responders who dedicate themselves to protecting, supporting and caring for others, often in challenging and traumatic circumstances. Thank a First Responder Day was created by Fortem Australia to acknowledge the more than 300,000 paid and volunteer first responders and the families who stand beside them.

As a mental health service, we recognise the importance of wellbeing, connection and feeling valued. A simple message of gratitude can make a meaningful difference.

If a first responder has positively impacted your life or community, we encourage you to take a moment today to say thank you and share a message of appreciation.

Leave your message of gratitude here:

To all first responders – thank you for your service, commitment and care.

πŸ’™ Men's Health Week | 9–15 June 2026 πŸ’™

Men's Health Week is a reminder that looking after your health is more than just physical fitnessβ€”it's about your mental health, emotional wellbeing, relationships, and connection to others.

Too many men struggle in silence, feeling pressure to "be strong" or handle things on their own. Real strength is recognising when things feel difficult and reaching out for support.

This week, check in with yourself and the men in your life:
πŸ’™ How are you really doing?
πŸ’™ Have you made time for your wellbeing?
πŸ’™ Is there someone you can talk to?

A simple conversation can make a powerful difference.

You don't have to carry everything alone.

🌏 World Environment Day 2026

A healthy planet supports healthy people.

Today is a reminder that small actions can create lasting change. Whether it's reducing waste, planting a tree, conserving water, or spending time in nature, every step counts.

Together, we can help protect our environment for future generations. πŸ’š

This week we were honoured to celebrate Reconciliation Week by hosting a beautiful Indigenous Weaving Workshop led by Aunty Joyce Hampton and Linda Elliott from Gathering Moments.

Participants gathered to learn traditional weaving techniques while sharing stories, culture and connection in a warm and welcoming environment. The workshop provided an opportunity to deepen understanding of Indigenous culture, reflect on the importance of reconciliation and appreciate the strength of cultural knowledge passed down through generations.

The morning was filled with conversation, creativity, laughter and learning as participants created their own woven pieces under the guidance of Aunty Joyce and Linda. We are grateful for the generosity, wisdom and cultural knowledge they shared with our community.

Reconciliation is about building relationships, respect, and understanding, and events such as these provide valuable opportunities for connection and learning.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the day so special.

🌱 Grounded Minds – Week 3: Propagation & Creativity in Nature

This week our Grounded Minds participants explored the themes of growth, resilience, and renewal through hands-on plant propagation activities.

Participants learned how to grow new plants cuttings, reflecting on how personal growth often happens gradually, just like roots developing beneath the surface before new growth appears. The session encouraged mindfulness, patience, and an appreciation for the small steps that contribute to positive change.

We also embraced our creative side by crafting beautiful nature-inspired wall hangings using locally collected seed pods and natural materials, including Casuarina, Rose of the West, Melaleuca, Hakea, Flowering Gum, and Pine Cones. The activity provided an opportunity to connect with nature, express creativity, and create a meaningful keepsake to take home.

It was wonderful to see participants sharing knowledge, supporting one another, and celebrating the many ways growth can occurβ€”both in the garden and within ourselves. πŸŒΏπŸ’š
