‼️Riverina Men’s Wellness Centre Update‼️

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to share a quick update on the progress of the Riverina Men’s Wellness Centre.

Our working group has been meeting regularly throughout the year, putting in the groundwork to bring this vision to life. We’ve been developing the Centre’s structure, business plan and long-term vision to ensure we create something that genuinely meets the needs of men in our community.

Over the coming months, we’ll continue working behind the scenes to bring everything together and position ourselves to apply for funding to help get the Centre up and running.

We’re also looking forward to holding a community information session in the near future, where we’ll share what we’ve been working on, outline the vision for the Centre and provide an opportunity for questions and discussion.

We sincerely appreciate the support we’ve received so far and hope you’ll continue this journey with us.

We believe our community needs this Centre. Our men need this Centre.

Together, we can create something that makes a lasting difference.

Rhys

Griffith community 📢‼️

The Murrumbidgee Men’s Group will be joining Pathways Murrumbidgee in Griffith on the 1st of July for an Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Harm Reduction Talk.

These are important conversations to be having in our communities. The more we can build knowledge, awareness and understanding, the better equipped we are to make informed decisions for ourselves and support those around us.

This is a free community event, with a BBQ provided.

If you’re in the area, come along, have a yarn, learn something new and meet some of the blokes from MMG. We’d love to see you there.

Please share this post to help spread the word and encourage others to get involved.

Together we are stronger. 🙌🏼

Men’s Health Week is a moment to bring focus to men’s mental health, particularly the different ways distress can be experienced and communicated.

This focus matters beyond one week. Understanding how men experience difficulty, and how they reach out for support, is important year‑round.

By listening closely to the experiences of people who reach out, Lifeline is focused on strengthening how support shows up when someone needs it.

Lifeline offers free support 24/7 by call, text or chat: lifeline.org.au/get-help

At MMG, we deliver lived experience and mental health awareness talks throughout our community.

By sharing our lived experience and having honest conversations, we aim to break down stigma, encourage blokes to reach out for support, and help change the narrative around men’s mental health.

We’re passionate about making a genuine difference in our community and creating spaces where people feel safe to talk, connect and support one another.

If you’re a school, workplace, sporting club, or community group and would like us to come and speak, we’d love to hear from you.

Please share this post and help us spread the word. Together, we are stronger. 🙌🏼

Our brain can be our best friend or our worst enemy if we let it.

The way we talk to ourselves matters. Before I used to choose hate and resentment, now I choose kindness and understanding.

This makes a big difference 💙

What an unreal day in Griffith today 🙌🏼

Rhys and Angelo had the opportunity to connect with the men from the Griffith Men’s Shed and the young men involved in the Clontarf Program at Wade High School.

We shared our lived experiences and had some honest conversations around men’s mental health, breaking down barriers, encouraging blokes to reach out when they’re struggling, and talking about where support can be found when it’s needed.

The focus of the day was simple but important — checking in with ourselves, looking out for our mates, and making sure the people around us know they’re not alone.

We’re incredibly grateful for the opportunity to share our story, connect with these great groups, and continue normalising conversations around mental health.

A big thank you to Griffith CDAT for organising and Joel from Karralika for helping out.

Together we are stronger 💙
