Marine Rescue is more than what you see on the water 🛥

Behind every rescue is a team helping keep our unit running through fundraising, radio operations, community events and support behind the scenes 💙

There’s a role for more people than you think.

🌊 Hope everyone stayed dry this weekend!

The weather cleared up on Sunday, so we were able to get the boat out for some man over board drills, navigation practice, and familiarisation with key landmarks around the lake. ⚓

We even spotted some jelly blubbers drifting past 🪼

Happy National Volunteer Week 👏🏻

We have 9.5 million people across Australia and 4.9 million in NSW who volunteer on the frontlines, behind the scenes, at market stalls, op shops and so many other places that make a real difference to our community. This includes 85,000 volunteers at Surf Life Saving NSW, 70,000 volunteers at the Rural Fire Service, 11,000 volunteers at the NSW SES and 11,000 volunteers at Lifeline in NSW and this week in particular we recognise their incredible contributions.

Thank you to all the volunteers in our local community groups and associations on the Central Coast for your dedication and time helping make our community a safe and incredible place to live. To name just a few, thank you to:

A Marine Wind Warning is in place for much of the East coast over the next few days with swell also expected to reach 4-5 meters in some locations. It is recommended the public avoid boating, swimming or Rock Fishing.

Please follow advice below to stay safe, failure to do so not only puts yourself in danger but also risks the safety of your potential rescuers.

It lets the radio operators know:
🛟 Where you're going
