Protea Place Women's Support Centre We provide dignity services, crisis and recovery support and programs for women experiencing domestic & family violence, homelessness or other life trauma 🩷🏠

Drop in Monday, Wednesday & Friday 10 am to 2pm with Lunch at 12. Client appointments, case management, outreach, groups Tuesday and Thursday 10am to 4pm (by appt Only)
Crisis support, showers, laundry, clothing, toiletries Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm by appt or phoning/text ahead please.

Thank you Tursa Employment and Training who provided a $30,000 community grant towards The Apiary. This grant landed right at the time we were planning the program and allowed us to dream big ! These funds were used to set up the space with resources and equipment along with all the beautiful furniture and decor that turned an empty shell into a warm and inviting space that evokes safety, creativity and productivity. A place women want to be and look forward to visiting.
Creating and decorating a space is often overlooked or left to bare minimum due to financial limitations. But we know the therapeutic evidence behind creating the right environment sets the foundation for engagement and success.

I year ago today marks a significant turning point for PP 🩷🏡
The growth and strength we have achieved in the last 12 months has been phenomenal and we remain extremely grateful to David Janetzki MP and Amanda Camm MP who made this possible through their belief in the model and success of our work and backed that with a commitment to recurrent base funding.

We were so honoured to welcome Deputy Mayor Councillor Dr Rebecca Vonhoff to The Apiary today to meet some of our beautiful Bloom program participants.
It was an incredibly moving and empowering morning. The women showed amazing confidence, asking thoughtful questions about leadership, finding your voice, balancing family, and building resilience. Rebecca’s warmth, local insights, and encouragement truly resonated with everyone in the room. 🐝🩷🐝

We too have numerous DFV survivors who have sat at our table only to find another survivor of the exact same perpetrator sitting in the same room. No previous connection and no knowledge prior to them meeting.
It’s happening more than people know .
The rights of victims are not considered and this needs to change.

We are so incredibly supported and cared for by our community. This includes our PP vehicles!
These vehicles go non stop and clock up some serious Ks doing vital work supporting women in our community. There is rarely a moment they are not zooming around town, transporting women, setting up homes, out on the open road or down a dusty country track 😂🌻
That means they sometimes look a little neglected 🥲
