Some GREAT news!
Our Lions Club collects and cashes in bottles and cans etc.
Funds raised by doing that are specifically dedicated to sending needy kids to camps.
With the uncertainties of the Licola Wildernes camp, we support kids to go to other suitable camps.
We recently cashed in $437.50 from cans and bottles donated to us by the fantastic TOUGH GUYS BOOK CLUB.
This club meets once per year at Licola and they are simply a great bunch of people.
Bear in mind that by collecting and cashing in bottles and cans, we are preventing those cans from ending up in landfill, or even worse, littering the environment.
A BIG thank you to the Tough Guys Book Club.
Be assured that the funds raised will be used for the sole purpose of supporting needy kids.

AUSTRALIA DAY 2026!
It's almost here, please come and join us at the village green for our usual Australia day Flag raising.
Annoucing the latest Toongabbie Australia Day Citizen of the year.
On the organ will be Meastro Mark Woods,
Singing will be lead by the Latrobe Valley Choir and of COURSE
a FREE Lions commnity breakfast.
Once again we've been well supported by the Latrobe City Council.
Do come and join us, we look forward to seeing you there.

Congratulations. the Christmas wheelbarrow raffle was drawn at 2.00 pm today at the Toongabbie Store.
1st prize went to ticket No 382 from Toongabbie and 2nd prize was duly won by ticket No 45, also from Toongabbie.
A big thank you to all who supported our annual raffle be it as donors or as ticket buyers, with you there simply would not be a raffle.

There were times over the last three years that I wondered whether I would get the first one started, let alone finish all three sculptures of the Gippsland Railway Dog 🚂🐕 - I'm still pinching myself!

Three years ago, within an hour or so of being sent the 1935 Melbourne Herald article "Gippsland's Wonder Dog Believes in Two Means of Locomotion" by the President of the RailTrail committee (and local historian) suggesting a sculpture, I envisaged these three sculptures depicting the story of the female red kelpie, known as the Railway Dog, on the old station platforms at Glengarry, Toongabbie and Cowwarr along what is now the Gippsland Plains Rail Trail. I hadn't made a representational scrapmetal sculpture of anything before, so its been a HUGE learning curve. Soon we will be moving onto the next phase of installation, and then a BIG celebration 🍾 🎉 STAY TUNED!
