Today we recognised the special contributions that volunteers make across the St George and Sutherland Shire, as we came together on the lands of the Dharawal Peoples for the 2026 NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards.

Special congratulations to Krazy Kosci Klimb organiser and Cerebral Palsy Alliance volunteer Bill Manning who was named the 2026 Southern Sydney Volunteer of the Year for his decades-long commitment to young people with a disability.

The 2026 Southern Sydney award winners for the were announced today at Cronulla RSL:

The Illawarra is home to an extraordinary volunteer community, who generously give their time to support young people, the elderly, emergency services, and a huge range of community and sporting groups.

Today, we gathered on the lands of the Dharawal people to give a shout out to this team of volunteering virtuosos for the 2026 NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards.

Congratulations to Vivienne Marris from Jamberoo who was named 2026 Illawarra Volunteer of the Year for putting her hand up to support more than fifteen local organisations, delivering far-reaching impact and fostering a true sense of community belonging.

Today we came together on the lands of GuriNgai, Dharug and Dharawal peoples to celebrate volunteering across the Northen Beaches for the 2026 .

From Manly to Palm Beach and Forestville to Terrey Hills - volunteers around the beaches help keep people of all ages safe, healthy and well connected. Today we said thank you.

Special congratulations to Mowana Safe Space founder Melani Kypri who was named the 2026 Northern Beaches Volunteer of the Year for her deep commitment to mental health services and support.

The volunteer festivities reached Western Sydney today across the lands of the Dharug Peoples, as friends, neighbours, colleagues and civic leaders came together at the St Mary’s Band Club for the 2026 .

The region’s volunteers do so much for community and people, and it was a day to say thank you.

Special congratulations to Share the Dignity volunteer recruiter and manager Kerrie Barton who was named the 2026 Outer Western Sydney Volunteer of the Year.

Kerrie shows relentless drive to recruit, train and mentor more than 200 volunteers – all working to help end period poverty across NSW.

The 2026 Outer Western Sydney Volunteer of the Year award winners are:

Hope comes in many forms, but across the Blue Mountains, volunteers provide it in spades.

Whether assisting with emergencies, supporting vulnerable or profoundly ill children and their families, or connecting with isolated members of the community, volunteers show up every day.

Today, at the 2026 Blue Mountains Volunteer of the Year Awards, on the lands of the Dharug and Gundungurra peoples, we celebrated the wonderful volunteers who work tirelessly to make their communities stronger, healthier and more connected.

Congratulations to Natalie Bennett from Blaxland who was named 2026 Blue Mountains Volunteer of the Year for bringing hope, dignity and a sense of normality to the lives of children in out-of-home care.

The Plan supports our deep commitment to reconciliation by recognising, acknowledging, and respecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ knowledge, cultures and histories.

The RAP focuses on embedding reconciliation into organisational planning, building on current initiatives, and expanding our understanding of how to engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in a culturally safe way.
