The John Franklin Christmas Lunch was born from a heartfelt bond between a young man named John Franklin and Father John Sullivan, the former parish priest of St Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sutherland.​​​​​ Inspired by John's story, Fr John began a Christmas Day lunch open to anyone wanting company on Christmas. We are honoured to carry on this legacy with our Christmas Lunch in 2025.
