Welcome to the new members who passed their firefighter course at the Eurobodalla Training Centre today.
A mixture of bushfire skills using hand tools and portable pumps.
It’s always good to see people who have never met before today work as a team….that’s volunteers for you.o

What else would you be doing on a beautiful sunny day like today?
Spending the day at the Eurobodalla Hot Fire Training Centre of course.
Today we had 12 candidates from Tuross, Batemans Bay, Long Beach, Bodalla and Narooma Brigades successfully complete their Breathing Apparatus Operators assessment. Well done to you all and thank you for making the commitment to enhance your skills and, at the same time, further protect your respiratory system.
A great day had by all.

everyone loves to see a fire truck go past and wave, but have you ever considered being the one inside waving back, if that’s you then visit Surf Beach Rural Fire Brigade on any Wednesday when we train from 7pm to 8.30pm…..it’s great being a volunteer fire fighter.

Today, on Thank a First Responder Day, we recognise and thank the dedicated men and women who serve our communities when they need help most.

Our NSW RFS volunteers stand alongside our emergency service partners, responding to bush and grass fires, motor vehicle accidents, storm damage, structure fires and many other incidents. They give their time freely, often leaving family dinners, social events, work and sleep behind to help others.

Being a first responder is about more than attending emergencies. It's about commitment, teamwork, training, resilience and a genuine desire to make a difference in the community.

To all first responders – thank you for your service, your professionalism and your dedication to keeping our communities safe. We are so proud of the work that you do.

Today(Saturday) both Surf Beach RFB and Batemans Bay SES Unit, opened their doors at the Surf Beach Emergency Precinct to show a selection of various RFS vehicles and NSW SES vehicles and equipment. Children also got the opportunity to practice saving their self in the fire house plus trying some vertical rescue with guidance from the vertical rescue team. Smoky Bear was on hand with the Community Education trailer so Thanks to all the visitors who came and the volunteers who supported the day.

JUST A REMINDER that tomorrow, Saturday, both NSW RFS and NSW SES will have their vehicles on display so why not call in and have a chat. Look forward to seeing you there.

How do we get water to the fire truck when we need lots of water for a house fire…..come along on Saturday this long week end and find out. Open day with the Batemans Bay SES Unit between 10am & 2pm.. …parking area will signed posted with a free short bus ride..

Over the years vehicles have changed, the name changed from Bush Fire Brigades to NSW Rural Fire Service but the one thing that never changes is the professional attitude that volunteers bring to their community…
come and check out our new station on June 6th from 10am to 2pm….who knows you may even want to join the NSW RFS.
To Keep the area clear for activities, please use the designated parking area and use the free bus for the short distance,

Fighting fires is not everyone’s idea of fun so to speak but some people enjoy helping those that do….if you are looking for a volunteer position, please consider joining the NSW RFS CATERING BRIGADE.

Good teamwork starts with being friends, so today (Sunday) Surf Beach Rural Fire Brigade and Batemans Bay SES Unit shared a Sunday roast…why not become part of that team…volunteers do make a difference.
