🥳 BATEMANS BAY RFS STATION OPEN DAY 🥳

Batemans Bay Brigade is delighted to announce that we will be having a Station Open Day this year!

WHEN: 10am to 2pm, Sunday 5 July 2026

WHERE: Batemans Bay RFS Station, 54 Orient Street, Batemans Bay NSW 2536

WHY: It's been a while since we've invited our community to have a look behind the scenes at our station and we've had a few upgrades thanks to generous community funding that we'd love for our community to see for themselves!

There will be plenty of fun for all ages!
👩🏼‍🚒 Thinking about volunteering and want to ask some questions about the roles and skills you can acquire in the RFS?

🚒 Want to have an up close look at our fire trucks and equipment including some live demonstrations?

OUR BRAND NEW FLOORS 🤩👏🏼

Earlier this year, our station underwent a 2 month flooring renovation to recoat our truck bays and operational area with an epoxy coating that provides a safer and slip-free surface. Thanks to lots of planning, our brigade was able to stay fully operational at all times during this process.

Our brigade was delighted to receive funding in order to complete this from the Batemans Bay Soldiers Club. Last month, we were privileged to have Batemans Bay Soldiers Club come up to see our new flooring themselves with our Captain.

Every time our community provides donations and assistance to our brigade allows us to improve our facilities making our ability to respond to incidents safer and more efficiently.

We are beyond thankful for all involved in making our brigade a better and safer place ❤️🚨🚒

The Balook HR burnt well this afternoon.

There is still active fire well within the boundaries of the burn, which does not pose a threat. We will continue to monitor overnight.

Thanks NSW RFS-Broulee Brigade, NSW RFS - Batemans Bay Brigade and NSW RFS - Long Beach Brigade, as well as Ann, Chris, Bugs, Breezy, Mark, Michael and Helen.

Planned Hazard Reduction Burn – Lilli Pilli

NSW RFS crews will be undertaking a hazard reduction burn on Friday, 1st May at Balook Crescent, Lilli Pilli.

Firefighters will be on scene conducting controlled burning operations to reduce fuel loads and help protect the local community ahead of future fire seasons.

Smoke may be visible in the area throughout the day and into the evening. Residents are encouraged to keep windows and doors closed if smoke is present and take extra care when driving, as visibility may be reduced.

Fire practitioners from Batemans Bay Local Aboriginal Land Council will be conducting a small Cultural Burn (4ha) at Cullendulla Creek Nature Reserve today, Thursday the 30th April and Friday the 1st of May 2026.

The location of the Cultural Burn is within the Square Head section of the reserve (see image below).

The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service will be supporting the Cultural burn and will have overall responsibility for the safe operation of the burn.

While the burn is undertaken, walking tracks will be closed. Smoke warning and burn in progress signs will also be in place. To ensure safety, the public should not enter these areas while the operation is underway. Walking tracks will be reopened once the area is assessed as safe and operations are completed.
