⛽Fuel Theft Targeting Rural Properties

Fuel theft continues to be a concern across rural areas of Campaspe, with offenders targeting farms and other properties storing large quantities of diesel and unleaded fuel. Rising local and global fuel prices are likely contributing to an increase in these offences.

Farmers and rural landholders are encouraged to secure fuel tanks, regularly monitor fuel levels, and report any suspicious activity. Police will continue to patrol rural areas and may intercept vehicles towing trailers carrying tanks, particularly in remote locations, to identify potential offenders and persons of interest.
