Over 6000 delegates from 189 countries came together at to advance a shared vision for gender equality and social justice. After the closing ceremony, the work continues:

✅ Over 400 endorsements — including 200 organizations and 10 States — backed the Melbourne Declaration.
✅ Commitments taken with partners and delegates include the Adolescent Girls Era Manifesto, the Feminist Health Systems Charter, and the First Nations Indigenous Women’s Statement.

✅ It affirms that adolescent girls are rights-holders, leaders, and decision-makers — and that their rights are non-negotiable.

🤝 Proudly supported by the Girls Deliver Community, a network of 70+ organizations and adolescent and youth advocates advancing girls’ rights globally.

It’s officially here: the Melbourne Declaration for Gender Equality 👏

+30 consultations around the world.
Over 650 people across the gender equality ecosystem.

We all came together across regions and movements to reflect on what is not working and what needs to change to better serve girls, women, and gender-diverse people.

Today, we’re proud to launch this collective vision rooted in care, solidarity, and justice. The Declaration is a commitment to centering States’ human rights obligations to all people and the planet in the work we all do.
